A 200 year old stately Georgian farmhouse, cottages and sandstone oast house, stables and barn on 12 picturesque acres by the Derwent River.

Story

Hidden behind hawthorn hedges and set in 5 hectares of park-like pasture and gardens overlooking the Derwent River, Glen Derwent is a 200-year-old, convict-built mansion, classified by The National Trust and included on the Heritage Council of Tasmania Register.

Glen Derwent offers a range of accommodation from self-contained cottages to grand, antique-furnished bedrooms. You can book a single room or cottage, or the entire main house, cottages and grounds. The house, sandstone outbuildings and landscaped grounds offer the perfect location for a wedding, garden party or a corporate retreat, or just a pleasant Devonshire tea or picnic lunch.

Absolutely loved the afternoon spent here with friends. Liz, Ruth and Freya were a joy! A stunning property and grounds shared with such vision and love. Came away with a full tummy and heart.

What a wonderful Devonshire Tea we had here at Glen Derwent. Beautiful tranquil location. Perfect scones, thanks Ruth! Liz the owner showed us around the property and the layers of history it has. I'll be definately going again. And to top it all off everything was served on Willow patterned china. Perfect place to celebrate Mums birthday...
