I recently had to call on the services of White Cross for two patients virtually at the same time. The staff listened and prepared for the arrival of the second patient with a friendly and professional manner. I felt well looked after even though we had a longish wait with my first patient, the second patient was seen straight away. I felt everyone had been triaged effectively and efficiently with the second later being transferred to hospital. I was kept well informed throughout the process. Thanks for your wonderful assistance for such a trying situation for us!!
Long waiting times. But thats to be expected in a facility that sees people as they arrive. Dr Lawrence was amazing with my little boy who gets uneasy around medical centers! I was really impressed with his manner. The nurses who assessed him were awesome too but unfortunately I didn't catch their names! Great work White cross.
The medical and front line team are wonderful! Like every doc's, medical center they are under pressure staffing wise. Ultimately be patient as wait time can be long to get initial assessment by the nurse. Then be prepared to wait for a doc. If x-ray is needed - right next door -but even with acc there's a surcharge. Their team is efficient as they can be given their situation. They cannot help the wait time. My experience...11 am arrival out at 4pm on a Tuesday! The good thing is they are there - if you don't have your own local GP! To use the phrase...Be Kind the white cross team are doing their best under a stressful situation!
One of the receptionist was lovely however other one wasn’t as welcoming seemed more irritated than anything. Was told to try and quiet my son down who was crying because they couldn’t hear anything. I asked if it was okay for me and my child to wait in the car. The rude receptionist said yes but to keep coming in every 20-30mins to remind them I was still waiting. I had to rush to the hospital because my sons breathing declined. I got a phone call 6 HOURS LATER to say they were ready to see my son. Absolutely atrocious & not to mention PRICES ARE RIDICULOUSLY HIGH.
On Wednesday 2 November my 7 year old son took a tumble at school, landing full-weight on his left wrist and grazing himself in various areas. Because of the risk on wrist injury I patched him up, splinted his wrist and took him to Whangarei Hospital A&E where we were referred to White Cross with a 'Voucher'. Although A&E advised the wait would be ten hours there or three plus hours at White Cross, we certainly did not wait three hours at White Cross, but were seen after a little over an hour, and quickly moved through. The Wi-Fi available meant we watch you tube on how x-rays work and see a child going through the procedure, which helped remove the mystery for him. From the first contact with your receptionist I was impressed with the empathy and care shown to my son. The nurse who assessed him was amazing, immediately putting my quite shy lad at ease. He was still in some pain but she had the perfect balance of being gentle but firm and got done what needed to be done. We waited a short time for x-ray, with the receptionist in that department being friendly and efficient. Joe's x-ray was quick and he was given a certificate of bravery! Another short wait to see a doctor for a chat about what the x-ray showed. Again I was impressed with the respect shown Joe and myself. We were then referred to another nurse, she chatted away as she picked dirt from his grazes - quite painful for him, again gentle, kind and empathetic but firm enough to get done what was needed to be done, but also stop when he wasn't coping. This was my son's first memorable experience of medical treatment and I am so pleased the staff at White Cross made it such a positive experience for him. I'd like to commend all of the staff we had contact with and the organisation for the system which made it possible for us to have such great care.
I recently had to take my daughter to the white cross whilst on holiday what amazing service. Everyone was so friendly from resection, nurses and doctors. So great to see great service, well done guys.
Short of doctors 3plus hour wait left without getting to see a doctor frustrated. Pensioner Gold card not accepted. Nursing staff very good. Young female receptionist has attitude problem and rude.
I turned up twice up around Xmas/NY period. I was in a lot of pain. Reception staff are lovely, the nurses, Dr Larry and Dr Ellen were vey kind, they listened and prescribed some relief. One visit was a 2 hour wait 9am the other was a short wait 7:30am. If you can make 7:30am, it will save you time. It was an expensive visit without a CSC card. Total of around $190 + medication. However I was grateful to be seen.
Very busy place, one receptionist was very helpful, one was really snappy and this was just after they opened. Otherwise the nurses were very caring and the doctors great. Hard time to be a emergency centre.
Reasonable waiting time. Friendly staff...didn't appear stressed with grumpy children. The Doctor from Sth Africa was Excellent. I give him 100%.
