There are some excellent Doctors here, male and female. I have felt heard and been very happy with the care. Only negative experience was with a nurse who treated me like i was invisible.
The way the receptionist spoke was rude, abrupt and impatient. Granted that we are a walk-in and did not know they do not accept walk-ins they're a 2 week wait for new patients. My family came from Oakleigh to visit my mum and stay overnight in Melton. We woke up seeing our daughter with rashes and a fever, and wanted to have it looked at. Receptionists are the face of a clinic I should know as I used to work as a dental receptionist. There was no need to be rude. There are kinder ways to tell us they are unavailable. Trying to rush us out as if we are diseased is not one of them.
Best care. Been a patient at this Clinic for roughly 15yrs. Always great GPs, Nursing Staff and Receptionist. It's like a mini hospital, the government should invest money into these clinics that assist with Urgent treatment and care. Unlike the Urgent Care one's by the Victorian government. Only problem is that if you are on a Pension. You have to pay a gap fee, being someone with various health issues and on a care plan. This makes it financially difficult to maintain your health needs. Places that bulk bill are your only option, or Co-Health. It's a shame that this Clinic, no longer bulk bills even for pensioners with Chronic health issues and, who have been long term patients.
Always running an hour behind, don't waste your time, try and find a clinic that want to help all I get is excuses not answers, and they don't bulk bill, perviously had a good gp there but not anymore. Edit : e-mailed on the 18/11/2022 now the 21/11/2022 still no reply Edit: 23/11/2022, they replied on 21st and now still waiting for a reply again, they put the post up on google to pretend they care but there lack of response shows they don't.
My partner came home from work with bad chest pains. Westcare was the only centre opened that early in Melton I knew of, so I rang them to try and get an urgent appointment. They REFUSED to see him as he wasn’t a regular patient of theirs. Absolutely sickening not to mention disgusting and negligent!!! I cannot even comprehend how a medical clinic could think it is OK to turn someone away with bad chest pains just because they don’t regularly go there, which is actually due to THEM not taking on anymore patients! If he would’ve died or had other complications as a result of YOU refusing to see him, god help you all! You should be closed down, and all imprisoned for negligence! I will make it my business to lodge a formal complaint and pray you get what you deserve
My family have been coming here for over 30 years have never had any issues. Dr Jacobs is by far and away the best Dr in Melton. Yes it's disappointing that they no longer bulk bill, but you can blame the Australian Government for that for not increasing the rate of payment for Drs who bulk bill. I for one would never go anywhere else.
EDIT: I changed my rating to four stars after Dr Alastair Stark showed me that doctors can be professional, compassionate and understanding. It was a breath of fresh air to speak to a doctor who is very different to most other doctors at this clinic. We still don't have a long-term solution but having Dr Stark talk to us and actually understand and listen to our needs was very encouraging to my mother. Last night, she slept better than she had in a long while. -------- My family has been going to Westcare Medical Center for over 30 years. Lately, I've been less than impressed. My 72 year old mother is being treated with medications that require authorities since her 40s. In the last 4 years we have had four doctors leave and have been forced to find a new doctor. Each time, I have asked our doctor to pass on my mothers clinical notes and medications to the new doctor and to have a conversation about my mother's condition and needs. Each time, that has not occurred. Furthermore, I received a call from Dr Mirza Mehmood informing me that he refuses to treat my mother and perscribe her authority medications that she has been perscribed for the last 30 years. That's fine and it is within his right. I stress, though, that he didn't even know that we had been referred to him and didn't even bother to look at my mothers clinical history in order to make an informed decision. I understand that some doctors don't feel comfortable inheriting 'legacy' patients that were put on these addictive medications by other doctors in the past. However, I shouldn't have to 'shop' for doctors willing to treat my mother every time a doctor leaves. It's stressful and puts further mental strain on my mother who has enough to deal with every day.
Warm and friendly welcome from the reception staff. Dr Bhamjee and Dr Matthews are so thorough and supportive and the nursing team are incredible. Couldn’t be happier with Westcare
Every doctor I have been treated by at this center has always shown great care and dedication to me. They sometimes may not know an answer due to training, but they are always resourceful and senior doctor's are happy to step in when needed. Facility is pretty good as well but maybe have a better area for children or at least abc kids on TV to help when waiting. Will always come here no matter where I live. Very hard finding a decent Doctor these days.
The best caring medical team in the district. The administration team are exceptional.
