Do you enjoy sleeping on a road? Well here's the next best thing! Nothing but a thin tin fence between you and a real live road! OK so apart from the road the place is pretty good, and it's probably only going to affect you if you're in a tent. But if you're backpacking do yourself a favour and book into a hostel. There will probably be a more chill atmosphere and actual beds for the same price or less. Amazing for families I'm sure.

The Waikanae holiday park was just awesome! They have a jumping pillow, swimming pool, playground and games room for kids as well as putting on a movie night with free popcorn over Christmas and New Years. This is in addition to being beach front and centrally located to town! We put up a tent for 2 nights, had a fabulous time with great clean facilities and the staff were just superb and friendly. Best holiday park I’ve been to and more reasonable than any other camp ground on the east coast!!!

New swimming pool since we were last here. Very well maintained. Unfortunately there's a main road adjacent and the constant 24/7 noise from logging trucks meant very little sleep. (Edit) Upgrading to 4* as the road noise faded to background after a few nights. People on the beach side of the camp had better sleep.

Amazing spot! Top beach for swim and a surf fuether down. Friendly staff and great facilities. Will be coming back!
