My wife and I stayed here a week or so ago to visit a relative in Gisborne. The room interior was clean and tidy, a well maintained 80's / 90's vibe overall and in a lovely location close to the sea. We could see the water from our room and balcony upstairs. Close to town and eateries but reasonably quiet. Heat pump / aircon in lounge / nice TV, cooking facilities. The bed and couches were all very comfy, nice kitchen table and the room had everything we needed. Nice tidy modern bathroom. The room servicing was really efficient and unobtrusive, which was very much appreciated. The man in reception was very helpful on arrival and very friendly throughout our stay. We honestly had nothing to complain about which is great and we will definitely stay here again on our next trip. Very happy.
The room was spotlessly clean and neatly arranged, very impressed at how much care had gone into the unit I stayed in. I had a late flight into Gisborne and was so grateful to the manager for answering my call when I needed his help with access to the lockbox which I was entirely at fault for, he had also arranged for the heat pump and lights to be turned on so the unit was lovely and inviting when I arrived. The motel is in a wonderful location, with a very short walk to the beach and cafe. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to all.
Beautiful place to stay, great location and lovely, friendly staff. We were lucky enough to get upgraded because we had just got married which was an awesome surprise. Only thing that was minor was the dishes were dirty but I think they had just been sitting for a while because the room wasn't used much. Definitely would recommend and stay again. Thank you.
The place was spotless – really clean and tidy, with everything I needed for a comfortable visit. But what truly sets this place apart from other hotels in Gisborne, was the proprietor. Scott and the team are friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about hospitality, they went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. Whether it was giving out fantastic local recommendations, fish n chips at end of the road are great! arranging last-minute reservations, or simply checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, their personal touch made all the difference. Being across the road from the main beach tops off this perfect gizzy stay! Can highly recommend!
Excellent communication with the Waikanae Beach Motel staff even before we stayed. Clear instructions for an easy afterhours check in. We booked 3 rooms for overnight work-related stay and all were clean, tidy relaxing.
