We had a great stay. The motel is just across the road from a beautiful beach, beach towels were supplied. A short walk from town and from the surf club where there is a lovely cafe, restaurant and bar. The apartment was very spacious and clean. The shower was powerful and the bed and bedding were super comfortable. Fresh milk and water supplied. Staff were great, easy check in. Highly recommended.

While I enjoyed my stay here, there were a couple of things that could be improved on to make the experience better. The window in the bathroom couldn't be closed it had a broken hinge the weather during my stay was particularly cold, so to be able to close this would have helped to keep the unit warmer. I also struggled to find an electric plug to plug the jug into for a hot drink. There were only the tv plugs above the shelf where you would expect to find such things & nothing at all where these utensils are kept in the room, I ended up unplugging the tv to boil the jug. Due to the extreme cold weather, an electric blanket would have also enhanced my stay. Otherwise, it was clean, tidy pleasant room.
Loved staying here during my first time in Gizzy. Stayed in the sea view room and the layout was so roomy and comfortable, it felt like a home away from home. Bed was really good for my back too, and I slept well after a day's hiking. There is a cafe just a minute's walk up the road and easy access to the beach.
The fabulous people at Waikanae Beach Motel have looked after me for many years. I rarely leave reviews, but do want to say that they take an interest in me and my wife when she is here and not in my money.nThey are kind and thoughtful and the rooms really clean. And... just across the road to the beach!
