Nice hotel but noisy at night, people shouting in the corridors during the night. Lovely room but spoiled by dirty mark in middle of quilt on the bed!nnCurtains hanging off, light bulb gone right in entrance however that said, bathroom lovely and plenty of room with a lovely deck.nA mixed bag of good and bad
We as a Family have stayed here a few times over the years and it use to be absolutely lovely. This time around we noticed the whole complex is quite run down and needs some over due maintenance. In our room the plug didn't work in the bath, also there was no plug for hand basin, no teaspoons and overall just tired and run down.nThe pool wasn't working and also the Restaurant was closed. A lot of families save to have a night or Weekend away and they would be very disappointed with the state of this once beautiful Hotel.nI will say though, the Woman on reception was lovely.
Whilst the reception staff were lovely and very accommodating, the entire hotel is extremely run down and filthy.nAll the listed amenities are non existent. No spa, no restaurant, tv didn’t work at all, stained carpets, no plugs in sink/bath, blood splatter up the bathroom wall.nUnfortunately it sounds like what was once a beautiful hotel in the heart of Gisborne has been used as emergency housing the past few years. They should never have reopened without a full refit and revamp.nGutted as we were so excited for our stay here and were left incredibly disappointed.
Super large rooms, getting a bit dated now. 2024. Overall recommend. Owner need to spend millions to get it back to top notch. But good value for money. Reception very helpful. They made the experience great.
Stayed one noght for work purposes. Nice big rooms. TV swivels between seating area and bedroom. Bed was two singles pushed together so you could feel the gap. Neither the AC unit nor the freestanding heater worked. There always an empty fridge when I went to look for a beer. Location in town was great as there were a lot of options for food.and entertainment within walking distance.
