Understand the workload that they must be under with the state of the building industry at the moment however the lack of communication and response has only exasperated an already bad situation. Communications only take place through a portal. No one picks up the phone. No direct replies. I truly feel a 5 minute call could alleviate SO much pressure and help us to understand so we can prepare to take our next steps. We have waited months and months and still are no clearer as to where we stand with everything.
DO NOT go anywhere near this business!!! Dealing with them is right up there with one of the worst experiences I have had. The undue stress they caused us is disgusting. There is absolutely no customer service, they just leave you hanging for months with no answers. It went from them telling us our warranty insurance application would take 10 days to process, to still not having done it months later. To make matters worse, they would not even communicate an accurate date we could expect it. Yes, they have a larger workload at the moment however the more I dig the more I find out how incompetent they are ALL THE TIME. I ended up going through another company whose turnaround time was 1 HOUR to process and complete my application!!!!!! I can't believe I wasted my time with VMIA.
0 stars. Still going since 2019 on fixing defects in my house. It’s 2023 now! Same problems as everyone else impossible to get answers or phone calls back. Over 2-3 months you can leave 30+ voice messages, emails and expect nothing back. I wonder if they are governed by consumer affairs also?
Getting to the point I am calling or emailing daily but no one responds. Absolutely useless. We had 30 days to provide 2 quotes to finish our build after our builder went under. We did that, yet can't get a response re a payout figure so we can move forward with our build. Our frame has now been exposed for 3 additional mths and will mean a new defects report will be needed and more insurance paid out, so it doesn't make sense that they don't move quickly especially when customers are already in hardship and face losing a roof over their heads. Not good enough!
Be careful when submitting you rental claim payments which you are ENTITLED to under your policy, I have waited two months for the reimbursement of my rental payments, submitted more than enough proof, evidence and documentation to state i have paid rent and the VMIA have still not reimbursed me even though this is an entitlement under the policy
Our construction solicitor’s exact words were “,,, the VMIA will try to weasel their way out of payment “ so based on my personal experience with the VMIA, the VMIA is nothing but a false sense of security for Victorian home owners victims of rogue builders.Taking the VMIA to VCAT knowing that I will win.
3 calls and 3 emails with no response the service is appalling. Urgent issues at a building and Insurer wont insure because we cannot get any further information!!
