Great Cafe. Nice and modern interior, so great atmosphere. Great food and friendly staff. Can get busy as very popular. Food is presented very nicely (check out their Instagram feed!). Would recommend to try!

Airy, a bit sparse, but a pretty good cafe overall. Extensive menu and the food and coffee were fine (the choice of bread is a bit of a let down though). Service was friendly - we were told as soon as we sat down that there would be a longer wait on food as they were really busy, which was fine by us. Good WiFi (limited number of connections, so if a lot of people have connected, you'll need to keep trying and wait your turn). Contrary to other reviews, we did see high chairs available and a few tables with families, who seemed well looked after.

Had a nice experience at Uncommon! Ordered fish tacos, cheeseburger, coffees and cakes by anna and all was good! My mum really enjoyed the fish tacos, said they were the best she ever tried! Clean interior, was busy!

My husband and I ate here yesterday with our two year old daughter. We went looking for great food, warm and attentive service as well as a great ambience and decor. Uncommon take their food seriously, and it is great. Sadly without the other two criteria, service and ambience, it was a disappointing experience that didn’t need to be. The service was cold and impersonal. The decor was white and Industrial like cafes were 7 years ago but that today strive for more character and interest. I’ve not been to a cafe that goes out of their way to NOT be a child friendly venue, no high chairs or change table for a start and then the fluffy served with a chocolate bar completely inappropriate for a two year old. We left feeling, fed. Would love to see this cafe put more passion and flair into their service and ambience as they do their food.

My regular place for coffee and breakfast. The slow poached eggs are glorious! Also, the eggs benedict is the best I've had in Christchurch.
