We had found about this wine tasting tour via Viator and since it was highly rated there signed up for it. We went for a half day tour without lunch costing us around $60 per person. There were around 12 people in the tour. It started with our friend host Andy welcoming us on a well arranged table, and explaining us about the origin of vineyard at Hunter Valley. Then he brought a platter of cheese with nine different varieties. He then gave us nine different wines to taste with each cheese. After that we went to two other vineyards and tasted wines there. The entire experience was good as we got to meet many other travellers and also have fun listening to a well knowledgeable host. Will highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a unique wine tasting experience.
Ideal company for touring the Hunter Valley! I was recommended them through a friend, and they didn’t disappoint. I did the half day wine tour, the guide was great with a sense of humour, and the wineries we were taken to were lovely, a good mix of modern and family based. We had a fun group too. What impressed me most was they even catered for vegans…at the cheese tasting, they brought me out a whole platter of different vegan cheese to try! I couldn’t believe it! Thanks for the great memories.
Amazing and informative small group tour. Highly recommend the full day tour which takes in 4 wineries and a brewery. Wines paired with delicious cheeses and chocolates. Sumptuous antipasto lunch provided. Mini bus was comfortable and clean. Our driver Bill had a wealth of knowledge and a great sense of humour. Well worth the cost.
JJ was amazing host on the tour. She went above and beyond for the group and it was a great experience. We visited some of the smaller wineries and it was amazing the people you meet on tour. Came home with a lot of wine and great memories. We ended the day at a brewery for one of the best craft beers. The Hunter Slaked Magpie.
Two Fat blokes wine tour Nev and Judy highly recommend. On the full day tour 10am to 5pm we visited 4 wineries and one brewerythe wineries you visit Im told can vary on the day which makes sense The wineries we visited were operated by Two Fat Blokes, Ernest Hill wines, and McLeish estate to name a few. Jules our tour guide who is also known as George but thats only on a day when she runs out of petrol ha ha is very well connected in the Hunter Valley, or so she says... If you happen to get Jules as your driver and tour guide you'll find her to be a laugh a minute you will not be disappointed as her energy and quick wit is infectious. We had the best day being thoroughly educated about different wines, and on the last leg at Foghorn no we were all on our last leg ha ha ha pardon the pun. The picnic lunch provided for two people was enough for three adults. Overall I give this wine tour five stars. Tip of the day Wine made in 2014 is the best quality wine produced in the past 50 years in the Hunter Region Thanks again to especially Jules but to all of the wineries and brewery for your excellent hospitality and professionalism.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED JJ was our tour guide and she was so down to earth ,lovely and funny. We did the snapshot half day tour which was amazing the winerys were gorgeous. The two fat blokes winery tasting was amazing paired with cheese. We went to the Hunter on a girls trip for a 90s festival which JJ made fun for us and got us in the mood for handing us a microphone in the bus and playing oldschool spice girls music.
We did the half day ‘Snapshot’ wine tour for my Sisters Hens and it was FANTASTIC!!!! Brilliant wine, delicious cheese, great company and overall an incredible afternoon! I highly recommend Two Fat Blokes for a group of any size. We will be booking them again next time we are in the Hunter!
We were absolutely blessed to have Andy look after us on our wine tour and had the best time ever!! We visited a huge range of vineyards which all featured fantastic tasting options. Cheese and wine pairings were definitely the highlight of the day. If you’re tossing up between whether or not to book do not hesitate to lock it in!!
#2FatBlokes did it again! Our tour guide Andy was fantastic! We did a whole day uncorked tour and it was lovely! Went to some fantastic boutiques we hadn't even heard of, and the chocolate cheese pairing session were just 10/10! Such a good tour.
We had a fantastic half day tour. Great selection of wineries and wines. Cheese and wine pairing was the highlight. Thank you to Dave our driver for helping to make this a very enjoyable tour.
