Thank you to Dr Sam for helping our family in a very hard decision in putting my dog to sleep. She was comforting, knowledgeable and sincere. A token gesture was given to acknowledge your dedication to the hardest job of saying the truth about your family member. I will and so is my family so thankful for your support. We loved the card and the print of "miffy's feet. Keep being the wonderful vet you are...you make a big difference..to the fur community and of course the humans.
Dr Kim and her Practice Manager husband Chris carry on the tradition of her father and grandfather. They really care about all their patients. Their other doctors include Dr Fiona and Dr Lauren and their girls vet nurses are fabulous. Roy loves Bianca and Baxter loves Georgia and Jo. My boys know that they will get top care and as Royboy and Baxter are my world it is reassuring and comforting to know that their health and well-being is Dr Kim and her staff's top priority. Dr Kim has a heart of Gold.
Dr Kim and all the staff at Tugun vet are amazing. Friendly, competent and very professional. Would highly recommend them.
Have used Tugun vets for the past 2 years and they have been consistently awesome. I have seen a couple of different vets during the time with them and all of them have been so lovely, patient and provided excellent care! They always go the extra mile and always friendly and smiling! no matter how busy they are. Thank you as always to the team there!
I really hate to do this as my animals have been loyal patients at Tugun Vets for roughly three years, and I know that veterinary staff often and unfairly feel the brunt of emotionally distressed patients/clients, but I cannot in good faith come back to this clinic after two emotionally taxing experiences with the new practice manager, Karen see review from 2 months ago left by my partner, Zac. I have an elderly dog who needs quite a bit of care and on two occasions, Karen has turned the typically simple process of getting my dog's medicine into combative and aggressive episodes; she needlessly adds stress to an already stressful situation and shows no concern for the immediate welfare of a dog without medication supply. 60 days ago roughly June 9 my dog had her script filled for 100ml of medication. Her dose is 2ml per day. I had a little extra of the medication from a previous bottle and made an appointment to bring my dog in today August 10 for a check-up and to fill our script. At 2ml per day over 60 days, the 100ml bottle of medication was empty. Karen informed me she had 'done the math' and that my dog's bottle should have 40ml left, and then proceeded to deny me medication for my dog on this basis. 2ml x 60 days = 120ml --- there is absolutely no question that the 100ml bottle was empty, in the negative, and Karen's math was wrong disturbingly so, for a person managing a veterinary practice. Karen knuckled down in her response - and her math - and begun to look around at the other people/animals waiting, showing me she was finished with this interaction. She coldly asked me if I wanted to book any other appointments. Having had a poor experience with her a short 60 days ago, again over getting a supply of medication for my dog, and again in which she became cold and combative, I chose to leave the clinic with my dog and not engage with her conduct. I later had to organise transferring my dog's medical history and script to another clinic, who immediately filled the script to ensure my dog had her essential heart medication. I emailed a complaint to the clinic owner, again, and phoned the clinic to ask that the owners prioritise the complaint, where possible. It has been 24 hours and I have not heard from the clinic owners, so I have regrettably chosen to leave this review. I hate this this review reflects on the clinic because outside the conduct of Karen, I believe the vets and other staff to be wonderful. But this is now the second time Karen has wilfully endangered my dog by causing a needless drama over a simple medication refill, and it is concerning to me on a personal level to have a person in charge of clinic operations who behaves as Karen does. My dog is in her final chapter of life, and despite the truly wonderful care the vets of Tugun have given her, I cannot bring myself to return to this clinic with her when the time comes to say goodbye. Knowing how horribly the practice manager has treated us and how little regard she has shown for my dog, it is the last place I would bring my little girl to share special her final moments. That is a horrible way to feel about a clinic, and a horrible stress to add to an already challenging period of time with my geriatric dog. It would not be my advice that a person was to bring their animal to this clinic if they feel emotional, are distressed or need any kind of priority help. Karen does not have the tools in her temperament to fairly help and only makes the situation more damaging, challenging and heart-breaking. All the best.
Can't speak highly enough of Kim & her staff. My animals have been patients of Kim & her dad Bob for over 50 years. Wouldn't trust anyone else.
Terrible service tonight by the practice manager, to abuse my partner over the phone when she was just trying to organize some medicine for our little pooch. They made it seem like my partner was in the wrong when in actual fact it was poor administration. You will be getting very bad service if you think this practice manager cares. Calling 3 times to organize dog medicine is no harassment. Will be following up this behavior with the clinics owners.
As an experienced animal carer and pet owner - I can confidently vouch for the excellent and high level of care that is given to each and every animal that is treated at Tugun Vet Surgery. These vets are genuinely invested in giving each animal the best possible treatment. Most recently, our dog was taken in for surgery to remove an invasive cancer. During the procedure the vets discovered a mass in the stomach and conducted additional scans and x-rays to assess this. It was all done at no extra charge to us - but simply in the best interests of our dogs welfare.
We can not thank the staff enough for the love and care they showed us last week. Unfortunately we had to put our 11 year old girl down and they were so compassionate and helpful during this horrible time. Thank you guys for making such a horrible thing so much easier
