We live in Sydney and were on hols. Harry became acutely ill.  It was Sunday January 7 -  2018. 
No local vet was open in Tweed Heads. We rang on the way and rushed him to AEC. From the moment we arrived the professional care, kindness and genuine interest was second to none. Our precious little  Harry took ill and was dead within 1.5 hours from a tumour on his spleen which had ruptured. Whilst we will never, ever get over his death and the way in which it happened we are eternally grateful to the amazing Doctor Natalie and her team for their care of Harry and us. Harry had been ill from the day he was born and hence had seen many vets, been in ARH so many times we lost count. I mention this as a means of explaining that I have been in the company of many specialist vets and vets generally over the last almost 13 years and believe I am therefore a reasonable judge of a good vet or otherwise. Doctor Natalie was so professional and so efficient yet with so much compassion and kindness that we, whilst bereft with grief at the inevitable felt so confident in her professional diagnosis and opinion. She made the most challenging day almost bearable. Such a delightful lady with so much compassion and such a wonderful vet. A rare but perfect balance in our opinion! Can't fault the service the staff were so friendly and Justin the vet i dealt with was incredibly informative. Open 24 hrs on the weekends it's a great place if an emergency occurs with your pet - attached is a photo of my 14 week old French Bulldog resting after his overnight stay.

Absolutely wonderful and friendly caring staff who really put my mind at ease when I brought my amstaff tyson in after him really not being himself they ran all the appropriate tests that’s ere needed and looked after my pooch with love and care .The Vet who saw tyson was very thorough And informative on everything that was carried out and the nurses were tops to thanks again aec ❤️

This is the third time I have needed to use the AEC for one of my dogs in the last 5 years.  As always the service was prompt, thorough and focused on the immediate concern. The vet discussed all options for care and outlined all the costs none of which were hidden. At no point were there any 'add ons' just pain control and antibiotics both of which were necessary. I don't want my dog in pain or a wound infection. There are reviews about high charges but these are not unreasonable for Emergency Care and there is no Medicare for animals! I would highly recommend the AEC and get pet insurance or a Healthy Pets Plus plan to manage costs.

It is so good to have a fantastic place to take your pets to out of normal business hours.  The staff are wonderful, highly recommended
