Good value for no-frills hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the location and lobby are nice. The twin beds weren’t very comfortable, however is okay for 2 nights. The bathroom was great, lots of counter space plus a long shelf running across it. The room is small, but fine if you’re going to be out and about all day.
No frills modern hotel, something like you might expect to find at an airport. King size beds are exceptionally comfortable. Rooms are utilitarian and built to a price, but adequate none the less. Excellent location, right next to Southern Cross Station and agreed Marvel Stadium. Enter at ground level. Continental breakfast is got value.
A simple, business style hotel in a great location right next door to Southern Cross train station and 5 min walk from riverfront. Very quiet despite central location. Polite, friendly staff. Smallish but comfortable rooms beds, showers etc all good. Will happily stay there again on my next trip to Melbourne.
This is my second time at the Travelodge Dockland and the service and cleanliness has declined. The shampoo dispenser was full of water, they only replaced my bath towels not hand or face towels, didn’t fix the bed, we were told we had to wash our own dishes in which there was no washing detergent in the room. We were told by the receptionist that we had to do our own cleaning. Definitely not worth the price we paid.
Lovely hotel, the room was very nice and neat. You are able to buy food and drinks from the service counter. The rooms are also very spacious and comfortable. The travel lodge is a definite choice when wanting to travel Melbourne as it’s a 3 minute walk to a tram and practically right next to southern cross station. We stayed for 4 nights and we found it amazing. Sadly check in is at 3pm and we had an early flight in but they held our bags there while we shopped through the city.
Excellent location. However, it's only 3 stars - instead of 4 stars hotel. Lack of services of 4 stars hotel such as bellman and breakfast. We had to take all the luggages to our room. We stayed for 3 nights and never had the bed sheets changed as well as free breakfast. The room was small and old, especially the bathroom, and it's not clean. Thus, I don't know how they have earned 4 stars. Rooms: Small with old bathroom. Walkability: Excellent location. Can walk around and close to the CBD. Food & drinks: Very limited choices with no breakfast.
Even though this hotel has a 4 star rating, I would give it a 3 star which is the most I can give because it doesn’t meet the standard of a 4 star hotel at all. No one changed the bed sheets, let alone cleaned the floors, probably the only thing changed was a few extra rolls of toilet paper, and that’s it. The only good thing I can think of about this hotel is its location, but this hotel doesn’t deserve such a great location. The bustling Melbourne metropolitan area requires more high-quality hotels, not the kind of hotels that don’t even know how to handle bed sheets and hygiene. Would definitely not recommend this hotel, very terrible experience.
We loved this hotel. When booking my room I accidentally chose the wrong date and when I called to change the booking they were extremely helpful even though it was a non-changeable booking. Staff were very friendly when checking in and out. The room was average, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. The price was a little high in my opinion but it was higher on the night we stayed as there was a concert on at Marvel stadium across the street. We ate breakfast at the hotel which was again, nothing fancy but an average continental breakfast. Overall a lovely stay!
Very standard business hotel. Very close to the Southern Cross station which is a plus, especially if you're catching the Skybus Express from the airport. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was starting to show its age. Microwave available in room which is a plus in my opinion.Rooms: 4/5
The hotel is a decent hotel for a good price but what really makes it stand out is the staff. Catherine at the front desk was extremely friendly and so helpful. Thank you so much for a great stay Catherine and I hope I spelt your name right Walkability: Close to southern Cross and easily accessible to city
