Delicious meal. The snapper and gurnard were so fresh, light and delicious. The homemade potato fritters were fluffy and great. Also great to check a lasagna square off my NZ to-eat list; delicious too!
It was a quiet day when I visited, and I was the only customer at the time. This means that the food came really quickly and the staff had the time to be attentive.nThe food was pretty good, for basic fish and chips and the portions were generous enough. The prices have gone up since the days of my youth, but that's unavoidable, and it was cheaper than some others.
Was told this shop was the best in town. Not by a long shot. Ordered 60 dollars of fish n chips didnt get the snapper we ordered 11 each by the way. And is greazy as. Why dont you double check before you send people on there way. Unreal and it wasnt busy so no excuse. Try the next fish shop
Most excellent battered fish, mussel fritters a local specialty and chips. Beautifully crisp batter. Tender inside. Served with a smile. Lovely NZ hospitality.
So got some chicken and chips today with some wedges thought I was gonna have a mean feed, so I was eating in the half light and all was going well, I had a very big nice looking thigh and i bite a piece off and it was half cooked inside RAW very gross and it had to be chicken. No hard feelings was just very hungry and then......not so much. I'll have to try the fish and chips next time
