Great place to eat. Fantastic service and food was devine. Pork hock is amazing! Partner had 1kg Mussels which she said were lovely and tasty. Can be a bit hot inside to eat in summer, could do with some ceiling fans. Other than that will be back again.

Good pub atmosphere and decor. We enjoyed dinner here, I had the seasoned wedges which were tasty, could have had a tad more bacon and add the sour cream at end so it didnt curdle but tasted still good. My partner had the ribs which he couldn't fault. Both portions were very generous Food and drinks were also reasonably priced.

Great pizzas, lovely staff. Fantastic to have vegan cheese option. The Colville pizza vegetarian/vegan is unique, super filling unexpectedly extremely tasty! $10 pizza deal on Sunday is an added bonus.

Absolutely amazing. My family and I went last night and had the best time!!! Incredible food, delicious beef and super friendly service. The chef even came out to check on my allergies before making my food. Can’t wait to go back again, which will probably be tomorrow night. Definitely stop, they have the best pizzas in New Zealand. Wish we had this fantastic restaurant in Auckland.

A grt Pub right in the middle of Coromandel township, if yr looking for a evening meal or a chat with sm of the locals then this is one of these places. Mussels are fresh & taste good frm the menu. Staff are very chatty and friendly.

Busy with the rugby on, ribs were moist and tender and all other food ordered was great. Beer was cold. 1 bar tender didn't make us feel welcome for some reason but still a cool bar Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu, pizza was yum so my son said

Fun lively pub/var in the historic rehabilitated Star and Gartner Hotel. We had 3 different meals and all 3 were excellent and reasonably priced. Service was spectacular as well! This place is over 150 years old and still has that vibe of olden days. The couple that fixed this place up did a fantastic job!

Called in with family visiting from Australia for a late lunch. Sunday $10 pizzas were on the cards. A problem with a couple of pizzas being slightly undercooked was rectified immediately, round of drinks as an apology which was completely unnecessary but gratefully received. Highly recommend, we've been several times and will continue to do so. Thank you

Pork hock and 12pc wings Pork hock was fork tender and delicious. The mash and the ju made the whole dish even better. 12 wings were alright, decent flavour and cooked just nice. Whole restaurant smelled like cigarettes. The owner or manager who was behind the bar didn't even acknowledge us and we had to wait til the overworked waitress came to attend to us. Place isn't even the original or actual historic star n garter hotel but pretends to be.

Recently travelled across to Coro to attend an event here. Lovely atmosphere within a beautiful building...even with the weather being so wet wet wet! The Young man serving in behind the Bar was very friendly and helpful. We all greatly appreciate You. Thanks so much for helping make my Daughter's and her Fiances nite an awesome 1!
