Loved the Sunday roast! Must try the pork belly and rump cap! Yorkshire pudding and rest on the plate was just so delicious and easy to share for two. Fish and chips well done too. Wide variety of beers on tap, including white bay variety. Service is friendly and efficient. Plenty of seating available indoors and a patio out back.
We recently held our son and future daughter in law's engagement gathering here on a lovely Saturday afternoon.nFrom the very first communication with Kylie the whole planning and event was seamless!! Kylie went over and above well and truly to ensure this very special event was perfect!nWe were given a private area with a big screen TV where her wonderful wingman set up our photos and videos. We could set up our own decorations around the area too. The roof and sides of the area were adjustable for any type of weather which luckily was perfect for us on the day.nWe worked together with Kylie and listened to her expertise with setting up the room, tables etc and she listened very intently and totally fulfilled our many and varied dietary requirements! The food was exceptional and plentiful and very reasonably priced & the bar tab very reasonable too with Kylie working out the most cost effective pricing beforehand.nEvery staff member also went above and beyond in their services, friendliness and helpfulness. Kylie also arranged for 2 tables to be reserved in the beer garden for quite a few of our guests who chose to keep partying, tea and coffee was also supplied which suited the elder guests!nOne of the main reasons we were initially recommended to this place apart from the food was that it does not have poker machines.nOverall we highly recommend the Welcome Hotel for an event or just dining, it really is very welcoming and friendly and again huge kudos to Kylie and her beautiful nature, her expertise in event planning and excellent staff!!nA HUGE thank you from our family, everyone who attended continue to sing their praises of the day especially our son and his fiance!!
The Welcome Hotel in Rozelle is a gorgeous back street corner pub, tucked away from the main drag. It's where locals go. It's got a front bar, a dining room and a courtyard out back. Something for everybody.nnThe menu is extensive, way bigger and more adventurous than your average pub. They offer three cuts of steak: a 300g rump, a 250g sirloin, and a 400g porterhouse. We ordered the 250g sirloin. No mash option offered, so we ordered some 'Paris mash' as a side, which was nothing like genuine Paris mash, if we're being honest.nnThe steak was good, although nowhere near their claimed 250g. The mash was not as creamy as Paris mash should be and the chicken gravy ruined it. Good mash doesn't need gravy, it just needs the meat accompaniment. Easy.nnWhilst the food was good, not great, but good, the front bar itself is an absolute gem. It's cosy, has a ton of tap beer options, and has a nice deep bar top - perfecting for sitting at and leaning on. And they had AFL on the TV. Result!nnThe Welcome is a good pub!
Without doubt one of the best meals I’ve had in years at a restaurant or pub. We had the special of white anchovy toast w salsa verde and crudo for entree. Both delicious. In fact i normally hate anything anchovy but this has changed my mind. For mains my husband had fish and salt/vinegar chips which he loves and i had the Lebanese chicken w side steamed veg…THE BEST. THE BEST. Shout out to Lauren who served us with her lovely colleagues. So friendly and welcoming.nLoved this place. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend..
What a Rozelle institution!nnFantastic front bar - eat inside, the ambiance is unparalleled.nnThe Scotch Fillet is one of the best valued steaks in Sydney. Cooked perfectly and not traditional in any way/shape/form, but perfect in its own Welcome way.nnAwesome pub!
