Latin street food and bar in the heart of Balmain. From the creators of Corner Bar. Open Tuesday to Friday from 5pm, and from midday Saturday and Sunday.

Story

An intimate latin-mex street food and bar in Sydney's harbourside suburb of Balmain. Our menu draws inspiration from street food vendors in Mexico, Spain, Portugal and Cuba with a focus on daily fresh produce and big flavour.
Laid out over 44 gallon drums, the bar selection offers a range of imported tequilas, beers and wines to please the most fickle gringo.

We don't take bookings - just pop in whenever you like and we'll find you a seat.

Pretty slow service. We ordered and watched the table beside us get their food first even though we ordered way before them. (empty restaurant and you order first and your food comes out last). They even re-orderd food, and that food that came out before ours. Waitress got out order wrong. Had to pay for food we didn't order. And had to cancel the rest before it came out so we wouldn't have to pay for that. No apologies. Or discount for the mistake. She was a friendly girl but still. Tacos were average. Chicken wings are cooked well but just smothered in BBQ sauce. And would have been tasteless without it. Nacho are overly small and average. Margarita were nice. Not happy way to spend $95

Ordered food from Canteena through Uber eats over an hour ago and have just received a message to say our order has been cancelled. This is the second time we have had an issue with an uber eats order from here. If you're not capable of providing the service advertised, don't advertise it. Our compensation was only $10 off our next uber order and nobody contacted us regarding the order. Terrible service from both parties, hangry.

Went about 1 months ago to Cantina when I did a trip to Sydney with my girls. We didn't know any good places and asked google for advice. Cantina seemed to be the place to go to! Little did we know!! Not enough waitstaff and no attention to service. After realising how busy it was we decided to go with some nachos (+pico de gallo, guac and something I don't remember the name of) and 3 Margaritas. Nachos took almost 20 minutes to arrive but were still faster than our drinks ! Asked for no salt rim, still got one but gave up to complain. Definitely won't be back..
