The Bald Rock Hotel is an historic family pub est. in 1876, overlooking White Bay. A Rozelle favourite, it's known for its atmosphere food & live music.

Story

The Bald Rock hotel is the oldest continually licensed venue in the rozelle & balmain area.

If these original sandstone walls could talk, they would tell you of a colourful history filled with stories of smuggling, underhand business and even horses drinking beer!

These days, the Bald Rock enjoys a reputation for being a family pub with excellent food, live music and friendly bar staff - perfect for catching up with friends and family.

The steaks here were cooked perfectly juicy, tender, and full of flavour, although the steaks were a little more on the leaner side, low fat marbling.nnThe portion sizes were generous, and the sides paired well. The only downside was the salad, which could definitely use a better dressing to bring it to life.nnOverall, a great spot for a hearty meal in a cosy pub setting.
It was a busy night so service was probably distracted by the busy-ness.nnOverall food was good pub food.nnVibes were good, and they had the heater on so wasn't cold, and overall good to be seated in the dining space under cover.
Wonderful roast dinner.nnHearty portions, well cooked and seasoned. Heaps of meat and the yorkies are huge. Decent amount of gravy also. Always a bonus when cauliflower cheese is included.
Crowded and sticky floor pub. Live music, nice, yet small restrictive outdoor eating areas. Food is delicious! Out the front on the street seating is nice. Not particularly accessible for someone in a wheelchair or on crutches as many, many stairs and awkward spaces, unless you sit in the street out the front. Quiet part of Balmain.
A fabulous traditional pub. Set on a corner this heritage sandstone building is beautifully maintained. There are several inside and outside dining areas. The locals frequent it as do visitors to the White Bay Power station which is now an arts space. Food was great, sitting outside in the late afternoon was fabulous. Staff were friendly and the food very good.
