Story

The Bald Rock hotel is the oldest continually licensed venue in the rozelle & balmain area.

If these original sandstone walls could talk, they would tell you of a colourful history filled with stories of smuggling, underhand business and even horses drinking beer!

These days, the Bald Rock enjoys a reputation for being a family pub with excellent food, live music and friendly bar staff - perfect for catching up with friends and family.

Went here tonight for party. Great little spot, parking is a bit hard, but hey it's Balmain so not unexpected. Drinks were very reasonably priced 1 beer and 2 wines was about $24, I think that's pretty good. Food is also good, the Schnitzel was top notch. Place can get booked out so if going for dinner I'd book a table.. that's about it 😃

Good pub. Well priced food for Balmain with meals from $20. The beer selection is a bit pedestrian but the Irish music on Sunday evening makes up for that. After 4pm you can't eat outside as smoking is allowed. Not sure if this is every day but I got the impression it was due to some local by-law or something like that.

Has a pretty outdoor courtyard that is dedicated to smokers. There is a covered dining area that is adjacent to smokers courtyard.  Inside bar has some dining tables, is sandstone, quite dark but full of character.  Bar staff are terrific.  Good wine list.  Something on the dining menu for everyone.

Love this pub! The vibe and food is great! Plus they do jugs of cocktails and are dog friendly!

Having just moved into the area, and having been recommended to go we were not disappointed. Food and service well above average for the price point :)
