The Sackville HotelnTrying the New chef out.nThe last time I was here for lunch it was the worst but things are better now.nThe chicken was good and the tomato base was also good. No ham on it.nThe cheese was done well and it was topped with parmigiana which gave it good depth of flavour.nThe chips were okay not a great deal of them though.nThe coleslaw was good ,it was fresh unlike last time. A nice dressing on it with a hint of mustard seed in it.nThree and a half plates cleaned.
This place has gone sooooo down hill as the new renovation happened. Me and my other half come for a lunch time feed and we been here a few times before the renovation happened. I ordered the fish and chips and my other half ordered the chicken Parmi. It was tasteless and poorly plated and quality of ingredients was a very poor. Tasted like frozen ingredients used. I had the fish and chips and the fish was a little too oil for my liking also tasted like frozen and old. Wouldn’t not come back. Also over priced.
Reliable pub, always clean and airy, food is consistently good and beer always seems fresh. There is also an associated drive thru bottle shop next door which is handy.nnOne small niggle, serving steak in a plate that resembles a bowl makes cutting it a little challenging nnAll round…. Bonza pub
Sorry to say that the place has gone downhill with the renovation. Bar food is average to middling and the staff no longer smile.nTonight they spring a no dogs after 7pm rule.nWould be good if they put up a warning or even post it in the website. Not so dog friendly.nBeen coming to trivia and drinking/eating here for many years. They lost me tonight.
My friends and I had the BEST time yesterday for Melbourne Cup! The table and venue was beautifully decorated, food and cocktails delicious, friendly service, betting facilities onsite and all very Covid safe - we really couldn’t ask for more! Looking forward to being back again next year! Thank you team Sackville
