Loved this hotel! It’s so centrally located and the staff were great!nnThe room felt so elegant, I loved the electric Venetians. The high ceilings made it feel so grand. The room also has a fireplace which we turned on in the middle of summer! Hobart can be chilly even in February! I enjoyed the bathroom’s facilities however I found the shower gel a bit runny.nnThe breakfast offering was one of the best I’ve ever had in a hotel. So much variety and so fresh! I cannot find a fault with this hotel.
We had a great single night stay at The Tasman. It's a modern hotel set in a tastefully renovated historic building, and I loved how there were info boards set around many parts of the hotel to inform guests of that history.nnWe were fortunate enough to be upgraded to one of the Heritage rooms thanks to current status, which are absolutely beautiful and of a great size. I especially loved how high the ceiling was. Service was also excellent from the start to the end of our stay, which made the short time we had in Hobart a great one.nnWould definitely love to stay again and for a longer time if we have the opportunity to visit again in the future.
This hotel is OUT of this world! It really lives up to its name as a luxury hotel. As I had titanium status with Marriott at the time, I chose the breakfast as my welcome gift. HIGHLY recommend the breakfast here. It was local, natural, tasted fantastic, and there was a lot of variety in addition to fresh juices, made-to-order eggs and meats upon request. My husband is a bit of a food connoisseur, so upon check-in, he spoke with one of the staff about Abalone. If you don't know what this is I didn't, it's a large shelled mollusk basically.nnWe had arrived end of November, so abalone wasn't quite in season yet, but they were about to be. The restaurant at this hotel is ran by a well-known chef in Tasmania, so he changes the menu each night based on his expertise, interest, and food availability. So, my husband requested abalone. The staff spoke with the chef, and they weren't planning on it since it wasn't in season - but the chef said he'd have some folks do a dive and see if they could come up with one. AND THEY DID!nnThey prepared a fresh dinner for the two of us the next evening, and it was so well paired with the greens and other flavors. The fact that they went out of their way to prepare that meal for us made this place all the more special and memorable for us forever.nnThe room itself was comfortable with a wonderful view of the harbor. The blinds automatically raise upon room entry, and the there was some subtle mood lighting throughout the room that gave the place a chill vibe night or day.nnOverall, it was splendid, and if you either have status or are desiring to splurge - this place is worth it.
My family and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days for a holiday. I have to say, this is one of the best hotels in Australia. Every single staff member in the hotel greets you no matter where you go, in or out, every time! Every staff member is very professional, friendly and helpful. I love this hotel not only because the location and amenities are perfect, but also because the service and care make me feel like this is my second home. Hobart is a small city, but this excellent experience surprised me, and Marriott should really be proud of this group of wonderful people who can make a hotel feel like a sweet home. I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends. I would definitely choose this hotel if I come to Hobart to travel again.
