Very dated hotel. It feels like it is about to be torn down any day now. The staff were lovely and helpful, the beds were comfortable. However, there were three lifts in the building and sometimes it took us up to 10 minutes to catch one! The valet parking was a disgrace. I can't fault the staff as they did everything right, but there was not even a spot to stop to hand your car over. At times we had to go around the block up to three times, each time hoping a spot would become available. And when going out, it was requested at least 30 minutes notice was given for the car to be available. There is no longer a restaurant on the top floor and is now situated on the 4th floor where the reception and bar is. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night and it was massively understaffed. The food, for the price charged, was VERY average to poor. But again, we could not fault the overworked staff. We will definitely not book there again.
Boasting an ultraconvenient location, The Crowne Plaza in Hobart is located in the heart of the city’s shopping district with main stores, cafes and restaurants only stone's throw away. As you enter through a well sign-posted and unassuming entry off Liverpool St, a short elevator ride takes you to the reception desk on level 4. As with any fine establishment, the staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was an impressive blend of modern contemporary décor and elegant practicality. The colours were cool and comforting, and the expansive views of suburban Hobart and rolling hills were a portrait of scenic beauty. On the flip side, not atypical of many multi-storey hotels the sound insulation is poor, and its central location means a lot of the sound from the street below reverberates upwards. The building also makes the occasional creaking sound so if you are a light sleeper, you will need to pack some ear plugs. So in summary I would recommend The Crowne Plaza Hobart for its modern luxury and central location, but on the downside, noise might be an issue if you are sensitive to a lot of sound.
We stayed for a week with Crowne Hobart. It was an amazing experience. They are extremely friendly and polite. The standard king room was beautiful and clean with everything for a comfortable stay. Beds very comfy. Valet parking available but order your car about 30 min prior to your need for it. We got a flat tyre during our stay they need the time to walk up to the carpark which is a block or so away uphill. You have a fabulous and delicious selection for the buffet breakfast. Expect a wait for the cappuccino from the bar, breakfast coffees are popular and busy at times. We had a harbour side view which was a lovely bonus. We will always remember our stay with Crowne Hobart. Thankyou.
I booked 25 Dec 25 to 5 Jan 26 for me and my fiancée. Exceptional and friendly service from concierge, reception, dining, and cleaning. Reception in particular for problem solving and helping out with requests. The room felt luxurious and clean with attention to detail. A complimentary bowl of fruit was provided on the first day and then a small bottle of wine and chocolates for new year's eve. Late check-out was appreciated and the buffet breakfast great. My fiancée had just completed the 80th Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race in very challenging conditions and our stay was a perfect respite for her to rest and recuperate. Centrally located just 10 minutes walk to Salamanca and Constitution Dock. A wonderful experience. JP
I was very disappointed when I tried to call for many times, and get hold on the phone with NO answer from reception about the car parking. But finally, I get an excellence help from “Aya” without her, I would extremely be disappointed with this hotel. But she did her best to help me out, and it turned out to be very good. So yes, the hotel is in a good condition for me. Only the valet information should be included better than this. But yes thank to Aya again.
