Very dated hotel. It feels like it is about to be torn down any day now. The staff were lovely and helpful, the beds were comfortable. However, there were three lifts in the building and sometimes it took us up to 10 minutes to catch one! The valet parking was a disgrace. I can't fault the staff as they did everything right, but there was not even a spot to stop to hand your car over. At times we had to go around the block up to three times, each time hoping a spot would become available. And when going out, it was requested at least 30 minutes notice was given for the car to be available. There is no longer a restaurant on the top floor and is now situated on the 4th floor where the reception and bar is. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night and it was massively understaffed. The food, for the price charged, was VERY average to poor. But again, we could not fault the overworked staff. We will definitely not book there again.
I booked 25 Dec 25 to 5 Jan 26 for me and my fiancée. Exceptional and friendly service from concierge, reception, dining, and cleaning. Reception in particular for problem solving and helping out with requests. The room felt luxurious and clean with attention to detail. A complimentary bowl of fruit was provided on the first day and then a small bottle of wine and chocolates for new year's eve. Late check-out was appreciated and the buffet breakfast great. My fiancée had just completed the 80th Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race in very challenging conditions and our stay was a perfect respite for her to rest and recuperate. Centrally located just 10 minutes walk to Salamanca and Constitution Dock. A wonderful experience. JP
We stayed for a week with Crowne Hobart. It was an amazing experience. They are extremely friendly and polite. The standard king room was beautiful and clean with everything for a comfortable stay. Beds very comfy. Valet parking available but order your car about 30 min prior to your need for it. We got a flat tyre during our stay they need the time to walk up to the carpark which is a block or so away uphill. You have a fabulous and delicious selection for the buffet breakfast. Expect a wait for the cappuccino from the bar, breakfast coffees are popular and busy at times. We had a harbour side view which was a lovely bonus. We will always remember our stay with Crowne Hobart. Thankyou.
The receptionist Alan registered us when we come back for our second, two nights of stay.nnHe was just wonderful and very friendly. The management should treasure the employee like him.nnNo matter your room is facing the port or facing the city, you will have great views of it!nnThe breakfast is good, but not great, just like most of the hotel nowadays. But all item is fresh and well supplied.nnThere are many dining options nearby, from Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian Pizza and pasta etc. but they do mostly close by 7 or 8 PM.nnCrown Plaza should be your first and only choice when you visit Hobart, Tasmania.
Great views!! We enjoyed the open space of the hotel. Comfy bed. Clean. Good lighting. Big windows. Near lots of good places. They held our luggage for us before our flight which was super helpful.
