Story

Pantry Restaurant has been an important part of the Bayside landscape for more than 20 years. In a relaxed, stylish setting, our customers can enjoy delicious food served with a smile by our fantastic team.

Our team is like one big family, and we hope this comes across in the fun and friendly environment we have created. At Pantry, we have something for everyone. Kids, parents, friends, families and business associates come to our restaurant for our great food, coffee and wine.

Great venue for breakfast and will certainly return if/when I’m around Brighton again. The table service was good and the coffee was good. The only criticism I have from my experience was the poached egg were over cooked especially for the premium price. It would have been great if the avocado was inclusive in the price as I had to pay extra for it for a very tiny serving. The toast that came with the pantry breakfast was delicious but it was well toasted and hard (which cut through the roof of my mouth, hence, a runny egg would have good to somehow soften the toast). The sautéed mushroom that it came with was seasoned very well and delicious.

Looks like a high end restaurant from the outside, with high prices. Food however not up to standards and average for the price, but more disappointing was the poor level of customer service. Had to ask several times for condiments and waitress took orders for our tea and coffee but after waiting 15 minutes, we asked about it, and she had not even put the order through. The bakery section/shop looked nice but the banana cake I bought was stale, and it did not have any "use buy date" or price reduction on it, given that it was clearly sitting on the shelf for a while. Overall very disappointing. Much better restaurants and bakeries in the surrounding areas I would rather go to.

Quality food with a great atmosphere. Always a treat and never been disappointed 😊 Consistent great service. This is the kind of service that all places should have!

Expected better. Ordered the most basic breakfast which should be difficult to get wrong. Eggs were fine but toast was burnt around the edges and soggy in the middle. Presentation was below average too. I would also expect a ‘premium’ cafe to use decent quality soy milk for coffee, like bonsoy, but instead they use the poor tasting cheap soy milk. I think there’s potential here but it did surprise me that they get the basics so wrong.

Very Very friendly staff! I had breakfast there with a friend and we weren't disappointed. Moderately priced for the area but is a nice cozy place to have a coffee and breakfast before your day.
