Story

Established in 1875, The Lake View Hotel has been an iconic part of Ballarat for generations. Once one of thirteen Hotels that lined the banks of Lake Wendouree, The Lake View Hotel is the only one that remains.

As the decades have past, The Lake View Hotel has been a constant throughout the ups and downs of life around Lake Wendouree.

In August 2012, The Lake View Hotel begins a new era. Whilst respecting the significant heritage of this establishment, a complete renovation has delivered a stylish, contemporary venue to be enjoyed for many years ahead.

Pleasant experience staff were all friendly,happy & helpful great table service food was great. Plate size & money was well worth it. Nice view of the lake was seated next to open window Pleasant breeze was great.  then got blown way by sudden wind change    staff quickly shut it down window .. ample seats inside & outside large menu of food & drinks.   Will go back again

Fast and friendly service. Order via QR-CODE from the table - quick and easy. My Aussie pizza lacked abit of flavour, though that could've just been me sick, affecting taste buds?. Fluffy and soft, yet crisp, base. Wonderful.nNot the worst prices. Fantastic setting and good, family-friendly atmosphere.

As name defines itself, it have amazing Lake view. Quiet, cozy place to hang out with friends. Staff is too polite and ofcourse food taste yum. Must visit place if you looking for any romantic date or casual outing with friends. Ambience is too good.

Big tasty Bistro lunchnIt was Sunday of a long week-end and very busy and quite noisy. A Maitre'd looked after us, kept his eye on the room overlooking everything it seemed. Service was quick considering the crowd. Plates very generous. All our table of 7 were very happy with their meals.nMany of meals were around $32. Recommended for a good tasty feed.

Don't look anywhere else.nWonderful atmosphere, inside or  outside.nFood selection great with generous portions.nWe had the most pleasant and attentive wait person.nYou were fantastic to us Abbey and we  are so appreciative.nThe Lake View is so lucky to have you.
