Story

Established in 1875, The Lake View Hotel has been an iconic part of Ballarat for generations. Once one of thirteen Hotels that lined the banks of Lake Wendouree, The Lake View Hotel is the only one that remains.

As the decades have past, The Lake View Hotel has been a constant throughout the ups and downs of life around Lake Wendouree.

In August 2012, The Lake View Hotel begins a new era. Whilst respecting the significant heritage of this establishment, a complete renovation has delivered a stylish, contemporary venue to be enjoyed for many years ahead.

Table service was excellent and the food was above par and the view of the lake enhanced the atmosphere of our dining experience. The food looked good, tasted great and overall it was better than what we were expecting. 4 stars for the food, but 5 stars for  the friendly smiling staff, especially the young lady with the Hungarian accent, that took our drink and food orders. Special acknowledgement to the cocktail magician whi made the espresso martinis.

By far the best pub meal I’ve ever had. Good portion meals that are yummy and hot for decent prices. Friendly staff. Have high chairs and colouring for kids. Defiantly worth a revisit.

At a function upstairs. Good service, plenty of finger food. It was a hot day but very comfortable inside. No lift (that we saw), only stairs which wasn't an issue but may be for some.

Great food, fabulous staff (especially Sarah). It was very busy but still prompt service. We really enjoyed our meals and the view

Excellent experience. We dined outside, chose a table and ordered at the counter. Very friendly service and I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast pizza. We will be back.
