Given the price point, I had high expectations for this property. Unfortunately, while there were some positives, several maintenance and service issues prevented this from being the quality experience we hoped for.nnThe most frustrating issue was the bathroom flooding every time we emptied the bathtub via the bathroom drain. Beyond that, there were visible cracks in the walls, only 2 of 5 pool lights were functional at night, the balcony screen door was difficult to open, and one bathroom light flickered constantly. These maintenance issues detracted significantly from our stay and suggest the property needs more attention to upkeep.nnCustomer service varied dramatically depending on which staff member was on duty, and there seemed to be high turnover with different people each day. Our initial check-in experience was excellent, but subsequent interactions were disappointing. This was particularly noticeable at breakfast, where one staff member's demeanor made it clear he didn't want to be there.nnThe 7pm pool closing time feels unnecessarily early, especially during daylight saving time when it doesn't get dark until after 8pm. This makes it nearly impossible to enjoy the pool if you've spent the day exploring and return in the evening.nnDespite these issues, the room itself was clean and comfortable with a quality bed and well-positioned TV. Room service was genuinely excellent, and when the maintenance issues weren't interfering, the property was fairly relaxing.nnThis property has potential, but significant maintenance issues and inconsistent service prevent it from delivering the experience its price point promises.nnWe stayed in room 64.
From the moment I arrived I was impressed by the grounds and the welcoming Tudor style accommodation. The staff were attentive and professional. The room was spacious and well equipped. The restaurant and bar provided the perfect mix of relaxed dining with a touch of class to make the experience feel special. The function space was ideal for the event that I attended. I highly recommend Peppers The Hills Lodge, particularly for events where attendees need accomodation to attend the event. It was seamless, stepping out of my room and into the event. The buffet breakfast option was a welcome option too.
We were very impressed with this gem of a hotel tucked away in the suburbs.nIt has a nice charm and character, well maintained gardens and plenty of on site parking. Staff were excellent and service was faultless. The nice restaurant and bar seemed to be always busy although we did not dine there. Room and bathroom was spacious, clean and comfortable.nOnly negative was that at night the external spotlight mounted above our particular room balcony shone through the sides of our closed blinds.nWould definitely recommend this hotel around this location.
Staff were friendly and professional and happy to help when asked. They left a lovely birthday card and free drink voucher for me in the room.nRooms were clean and tidy, we liked that we could open the windows a little for fresh air.nBathrooms were oddly proportioned with a lot of space in the room but tiny showers, not very accessible. Curtains blocked out light in bedroom very well. The normal coffee and tea etc was supplied. Casting to TV wasn't available despite being advertised on the TV and we found the TV programme interface quite difficult to use. WiFi was not great quality.nGardens were very pretty and maintained well. Breakfast was fine - espresso wasn't included in cost, and food offerings were fairly basic but it was fresh and they topped up all the platters quickly.nBartender was friendly and we enjoyed sitting at the bar for a drink before we went to our room despite the odd jazz music.nLots of stairs to get to the rooms and no warning about this on booking. There wasn't an elevator or accessibility friendly option to help with this. Carpets and walls are a bit dingy and need some maintenance between rooms. I wouldn't recommend for a romantic getaway, but if visiting for business or an event it was a pleasant enough stay.
Wonderful place to stay!nWe stayed for four nights, and from the moment we stepped onto the property, everything was spotless and beautifully presented. From arrival to departure, the team treated us with genuine warmth and care.nA special shout-out to Mitch, who went above and beyond to assist me in getting to an appointment — his kindness and helpfulness were truly appreciated. Highly recommend!
