Monday 31 March 2025 for dinner. Excellent menu and terrific service. My wife had the calamari and I the rump steak. Both were served quite quickly. My steak was superb, perfectly medium rare and the side salad was fresh and tangy and the sweet potato fries perfect. Great experience all around.
I am pretty disappointed putting this review in, as the pub was recommended by a few friends. Bistro and bar staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We went for lunch, and there were quite a few patrons. We ordered the fish and chips, plus the double patty burger. The fish batter was thick and dry, and the chips were well and truly cooked. The burger was sent back as the bun was over toasted / charred. There was a quick turnaround in fixing this issue. The meat of the burger was tasty and cooked well. However, once again, the chips were hard and dry. Possibly an off day for the chef, I'm not sure what the issue was. I would recommend here for a drink but not for a meal. Sorry, guys.
“Fantastic service at this beautiful old pub, and the meals were even better! The Seafood Pie was absolutely delicious. The prices were very reasonable, especially for such great food. I had my farewell party here and realized I should have visited much earlier. The steak was exceptional. The staff was incredibly friendly and made the experience even better. The prices are great, and it’s definitely a place I’d return to. Plus, it’s very kid-friendly, with the staff entertaining the kids while juggling their busy work. Highly recommend!”
Fantastic service. Beautiful old pub and even better meals. Seafood Pie and Massaman Curry were delicious. Prices very reasonable especially for such great food. Pity we are just passing through, otherwise we would be back here as regulars.
Lunch was great! Four of us dined, and all were very happy with our food.nGreat food, excellent service and prices are good value for the portion sizes.nThe place is tastefully decorated and decorated immaculate.
