I booked a room last minute because of terrible camping weather.nIt was immaculately clean, quiet and well updated from its recent renovations. My room was well laid out, had very good quality linen, kettle, fridge and good bathroom.nThe staff at check in were helpful and informative.nUnfortunately I was too tired to eat or drink, but the dining areas looked great.

Sending a message to the cook or who ever order the meat for you. I ordered lamb cutlets I got 2 lamb cutlets the meat on the cutlets was as big as a 10piece If u cannot afford to buy lamb cutlets with meat on them don't put them on the menu and yr Laksa was another flop cannot make a real laksa don't try to make it. I do not recommend this place for a good meal. They meal was that small it came in a bowl.and a teaspoon of mash with carrots .at 45 dollars I don't think so .will not return. I give u a 1 fail .
We had high hopes for our first visit today at the bistro. I will start with the positives. The bistro was aesthetically pleasing and seemed mostly clean I used a baby wipe to clean my seat as it had spillage. The staff were friendly and attentive and even bought over some colouring for our toddler. Now for the spoiler, the food. I ordered the mushroom and leek risotto and asked if they could add chicken as it was an option. When it was placed in front of me I noticed that there was a lot of leek, hardly any mushrooms and the chicken was non existent. I tried it and it was very bland. I added salt and pepper as well as asking for parmesan. It still tasted terrible. Like rice cooked with leek and water and absolutely no flavour. I couldn’t eat it. Instead of making a big deal of it in front of other patrons my husband was subtle and spoke to our waitress at the bar. She asked if anything was wrong with it and he said I didn’t like the taste of it and could we order something else because I was still hungry. He ordered the chicken schnitzel which tasted fine. She said that she would speak to the kitchen staff regarding the risotto. As we prepared to leave my husband went to pay. The staff member said that she had spoken to the kitchen and “that’s just the way the risotto is”. Apparently the chef said this which is a little biased seeings they cooked it! Of course people have different taste however this was a bowl of tasteless slush. She said she would discount the risotto 25%. We didn’t argue and left. $27 for the blandest leek risotto plus $5 for the non existent chicken less 25%. We were charged $24 for a meal I couldn’t and didn’t eat. Had the situation been handled better ie; no charge for the risotto, we would definitely have returned to give it another go and tried other meals on the menu. However it’s a bit rich to charge for a meal that was not edible. Especially given the cost of living and that for most people eating out is a treat. Very disappointing especially the managers response and handling of the situation. We will not return and we will also let local family and friends know of our below average food experience. The one star is for the atmosphere and table service.
We had the rogan josh on the special and crispy pork belly from the general menu. Both were delicious.nThe tambo shiraz was a little ordibary hence the 4 star rating.
