We had an impromptu visit for brunch on Saturday. The venue is in a lovely location where you can be seated inside, outside, relatively private areas or amongst the throng. We were seated quickly and served quickly too. The menu has some nice things, so for our first visit we had a pineapple and peppermint frappe, a lemongrass and ginger tea and salt and pepper calimari. The frappe was brilliant, very refreshing. The calamari was the best I have had in some time. The tea was good too. The service was excellent. We enjoyed ourselves so we immediately booked again for dinner in a week's time.

Food Poisoning! The Flying Nun has an excellent atmosphere so our family, friends and guests have dined there many times over several years. Unfortunately, the menu changes periodically and the food quality can drop from very good to very mediocre. In February 2018, we had lunch with a group of friends at the Nun; but, I had the misfortune to choose a chicken dish. It was so heavily spiced that I did not finish it; I suspect that the chef knew the meat was suspect and he or she had added a bit of flavour to hide that fact. However, it hid nothing and soon after, I went down with food poisoning that lasted five days. I made a complaint by phone to the restaurant and was offered a "gift voucher". Suspecting that this gift would require me to eat at the Flying Nun again, I declined this magnanimous gesture. In response to the owner: I am deeply offended by your insinuation that my intention was to defame you. You have said, “We offered you a gift voucher, which is standard procedure for a food complaint.” Apparently, food complaints are not unusual; do you call all your “standard” complainants slanderers? I initially phoned your establishment primarily to warn about food that had probably been poorly stored during an exceptionally hot period. I spoke to a young girl who was apparently a manager and told her that as a result of eating the said meal, I had become ill. She said this was beyond her scope and she would have to consult the owner. The next day, a “supervisor” phoned me and I reiterated my previous conversation and pointed out that I am normally extremely healthy and travel widely; I have only on a few occasions, in third world countries, been affected by bad food, and NEVER in Australia. Your supervisor made NO suggestion OR request, whatsoever, that I see a doctor. In fact, your supervisor confirmed my observation that you, the owner, did not deem this matter important enough to contact me personally.

Delicious! Didn't have a booking but still got a table very quickly. Service was amazing! Coffees within 5 minutes of arrival and food 10 minutes later. Decent price too, I couldn't finish my food there was so much on my plate! Still my favourite cafe around Brisbane.

Excellent coffee and friendly staff. Popular spot but staff did their best to find a suitable table for us. Extensive range of delicious gluten free snacks. Raspberry freon was a delight. Patrons around us were enjoying beautifully presented meals.

Good food, friendly service. A little slower to bring out food and drinks but wasn't really an issue. Great atmosphere. Would go again.
