The pool lanes in the big pool are too small for kids' lessons. 5 big children swimming back and fourth hit there heads while swimming from opposite sides due to lack of space. Some instructors are useless. Kids stay in the same level for years. Probably a money grabbing trick.
The pools are beautiful and clean, the staff is friendly, and I really want to give it a higher rating. But what really annoys me is the situation with the lockers. For example in the men's change room there are 12 lockers, but only 4 of them are operational. This is not a sudden thing, they have been broken for months, if not years. It seems that Monash Sport simply doesn't care.
Love it. I have been taking classes for two terms. The instructors are very understanding and helped me get over my fear of water. Jamaima is wonderful and sweet.
Too expensive for its facility. Doug Ellis pool's annual fee is~$1200, which is really high compared to my previous rate in sydney's $800 for a 2 times larger, Olympic-standard pool.
I have been coming here daily, rain or shine, to swim and sweat for the past year. It is reasonably good and staff are nice helpful too. Other than the little human induced envy, all is well. I saw negative comments probably having too high expectation, build and swim in your own pool then.
One of the best pool in east Melbourne. Really recommend
From our experience so far the staff is very nice! The only issue we had was with 3-4 twenty something males who seems like they just descended from the Indian Himalayas and do not respect other swimmers.
Great local pool which usually has two 25m pools one is currently being retiled. Always clean and enough space to swim early in the morning, or late afternoons.
I used to love coming here, but this morning's experience was pretty average. No hot water in showers and the spa still isn't fixed to use, but I wasn't advised when I paid the extra. I'll probably be trying elsewhere from now on.
Very well maintained and clean. Has multiple lanes for different levels of swimmers. An active presence of a lifeguard at all times who also looks out for hazards on the footpath. Plenty of space and rooms to change. Only complaint is the parking fee, which if you're just a part of the general public, costs upwards of $6 for 3 hours at the visitor car park. Everywhere else around the campus is capped at only half hour.
