Sitting outdoors beside the lake is very pleasant. Night time it’s a bit chilly, but the heaters made a difference. Overall a great atmosphere here and the menu has a wide range of food options. Nothing outstanding but definitely decent sized portions and tasty.nWe visited with two small children and there were plenty of kid-friendly food options.
The Dock Kingston Foreshore is such a lovely local hangout. It has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and good food, and it’s always wonderful seeing groups of friends getting together.nnThere’s such a great community feel about the place, with running groups, sports groups and plenty of locals meeting up. I also love that they provide buses for patrons heading to home game matches — it really adds to the atmosphere and sense of community.nnI’m not a rugby fan myself, but my husband is , so living right here on the foreshore, The Dock is definitely his go-to local! It’s wonderful having a place like this so close to home.nnA genuinely lovely local venue with a great vibe, friendly people and a real community spirit. Highly recommend!
The Dock has always been a grand place to catch up with mates.nnThis review pertains to my experience watching the Australia v Turkiye game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup LIVE! The Socceroos won 2-0 and the atmosphere at The Dock was the greatest I have ever seen it! There was a massive area outside pretty much all reserved and it was so in the spirit of the World Cup! Inside also had an exciting atmosphere.nnI ordered fish & chips and 4 pints of Guinness they have Guinness on tap!. Friendly and efficient staff made the whole experience flow unbelievably well! The place was packed with passionate supporters. The reactions to both the goals was were spectacular! What a venue for live sport and for a massive world event such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup! Love it! *****
Popped into The Dock in Kingston for an impromptu light lunch and it turned out to be a great call. We shared a loaded plate of nachos piled high with slow-cooked pulled beef, melted cheese, a generous scoop of guacamole and a dollop of sour cream. Simple pub-style food done well, with the beef nicely tender and plenty of toppings so no chip went bare.nnWhat really made the visit was the atmosphere. There was live music playing while we ate, which gave the place a relaxed, easygoing vibe that suited a casual Sunday lunch perfectly. The waterside setting in Kingston adds to it too, it's an easy spot to while away an hour longer than you planned.nnNothing fancy, just good food, good tunes and a nice spot to sit for a while. Would happily drop back in for another light lunch or a drink when the music's on.
My group really enjoyed all of their food but personally, I’m rating the food low because as a GF eater my pizza base really sucked. It was doughy and looked grey?? Was saved by the nice toppings. It was very busy when we were there but still could have conversations and the live music was wonderful. Service is also great and they had great drinks deals on. Overall, a bit of a mixed bag for my first visit here.
