I honestly have no idea how this place has so many good reviews.. the "ramen" that was meant to have cheese on it, but didn't come with any is, I'm fairly certain, a Nongshim packet $2 at Woolies with some stuff added on top. At first I was brought the wrong order, then found a hair in my replacement, which put me off eating to say the least I didn't have to pay for it, which was nice. The "karaage squid" is pretty good. Curry tofu: the tofu had a strange texture, the curry tasted like those small packets of pre-made Japanese curry mix that had been watered down. Plus the hair. Overall, no where near being authentic Japanese food in terms of taste or quality. Was pretty disappointed given the good reviews. : Won't ever be coming back. Will just drive further down to the closest Sushi Train next time I want Japanese. Giving one extra star because the lone, overworked cashier/drink maker/server was pleasant, helpful and apologetic for the experience.

Every couple of weeks I take everyone in my family to Sushi Mate. The flat rate plates are a real cost saver at this restaurant. For example, Aburi Salmon at Sushi Train is at least a $5 plate but at Sushi Mate it is about $4. Plate for plate this starts to add up fast, particularly if you like premium plates like I do. Another highlight are the Bento Box meals which range between $17 and $23. They are huge and filling, and I get one every time. The Tempura Bento is incredible value and is delicious! Try the Black Sesame ice cream if you have room at the end.
Had a family dinner for a birthday as takeout sushi was good apart from the raw sushi, it was very warm and left funny feeling in stomach not too sure if they made it fresh or made it later in the day and just let it sit, raw sushi should be made fresh on order, is okay to be served at room temperature but shouldn't be left for more then 2 hours, but apart from that the rest was fine to eat has to throw the rest out though.
Great sushi place, reasonably priced and great service and food. Very Fresh, sushi train style but you can order from the menu via an ipad at your table Kid-friendliness: Kids live it, the conveyor means they can see the food come around and they love to order via the ipad Parking: Easy parking, plenty of disabled parking

Dined in for Saturday lunch and this place was pumping. Busy, great vibe and the food ordered fresh off the touch screen tablet at table , wow. Really impressed. What a gem of a restraunt here in dbay. I'll definately be back.
All the usual sushi plates going past on a conveyor belt plus bento boxes plus a touch screen at your seat to order off the menu.Food: 5/5
