Had a free night on a Friday night and it coincidentally lined up with the iconic Queensland Derby.nnThe stadium is incredible and had a half time show by the Living End with insane fireworks that I have unseen at any major event across the world including AFL Grand Finals and Olympics.nnThe game was exciting and the Brisbane fans are amazing fans and more so the stadium is state of the art and I have been to Optus Stadium, MCG, Marvel Stadium, Stade de France amongst many.
Was lucky to be invited by a friend from work to watch NRL Magic Round in the Emerald Lounge. The Emerald Lounge was very clean and tidy. The food we ordered was fresh and came out promptly. Where we sat to watch the game wasn't too far from the bar. We had great seats to watch the game.
What an amazing stadium, purpose build for sports on a rectangle Footy field it’s the best place to watch any rugby league or soccer game there for all three days of magic round this year 2025 and not only did the field hold up well but The whole event was run like clockwork, credit to the management staff and Ground keepers of Suncorp Stadium, the best stadium in the world!! You can see and feel the hits happening right in front of you. You are that close to the action.
Suncorp Stadium never disappoints and offers an electric atmosphere. It has excellent views and a great location in the heart of Brisbane. Whether you're watching rugby league, rugby union, soccer, or a live concert, Suncorp rarely disappoints.nnSuncorp Stadium is easily accessible by public transport, with plenty of buses and trains running on game days. However, parking is limited and is expensive, so public transport or being prepared to walk a few blocks is the best option.
I was lucky enough to be a guest in ‘The Captain’s Room’ at Suncorp Stadium. It was a unique way to enjoy a special night out at the footy.nnI was a little nervous about whether it would live up to price and expectations, but it absolutely did. I was worried I’d be there looking at someone out in the crowd, sitting with a beer in their hand, wearing a poncho, laughing with their friends in the shared experience of the downpour, having the time of their lives - while I sat in the ‘premium experience’ thinking: “We’ve been ripped off, we should just be down there.”nnBut it was a special time shared with a close group of people who love the Broncos and the Bulldogs. It was nice to go and see the game in style, it was a way to celebrate being together, and it was perfect for what we wanted.nnThe night we went there were around 12 tables out in the room, with between 6-10 people at each table. It was well attended, but we weren’t crammed in at all.nnBefore the game, there was a great spread of prawns, oysters, smoked salmon, roast meats, and roasted vegetables. The seafood was fresh, the roast meats were tender, and the vegetables were cooked beautifully.nnDrinks were easy to order at the bar, and the toilets were nearby, which made everything comfortable and convenient for my friends with accessibility requirements.nnThroughout the night, the service team worked hard and made everyone feel welcome. The space was managed well, and had a relaxed atmosphere across the different groups and tables.nnThere was a live musician playing acoustic covers in the corner, which I was happy to see, and am glad the management team at Suncorp support the arts and book musicians to play live. It helped make the experience feel a little more special.nnIt was a rainy night when we visited, and while I don’t mind the nights at the footy in a poncho and getting drenched with my mates and sinking a few cans while watching a game at Suncorp; this night I was glad to be out of the rain and in comfort.nnBeing able to enjoy the quality food, atmosphere, and game with minimised stress made it a great experience.nnWe also saw Wally Lewis, Petero Civoniceva, and Matt Gillett walking through the corridors, which definitely added a bit of extra excitement to the night for us.nnAt half time, there were party pies, sausage rolls, tiramisu, and cheese and crackers. The quality of these food was also high and like with the pre-game food a lot of people went back for seconds and thirds.nnIf I lived in Brisbane permanently, I would dream of trying to make the Captain’s Room a regular thing with a consistent group of mates.nnThe Broncos won, and the crowd, like always, was up for the game. We had a great night, and if you want to be spoiled and spoil those you care about, and they care about NRL, this is a nice way to experience it.
