Story

St Laurence's College accepts students from Year 5 to Year 12, drawing from a wide area of Brisbane.

Opened in 1915 and currently educating over 1,500 male students, the College aims to offer the best theoretical and practical education to students.

St Laurence’s College Vision is to be an authentic, dynamic, relational Catholic educational community.

'Lauries', through nurturing respectful, compassionate relationships aims to:
- Foster Christian faith, personal worth and belonging through spiritual growth, reconciliation, compassion and generosity
- Educate boys and young men holistically in spiritual, moral, intellectual, emotional, physical, cultural and social dimensions of life
- Provide a safe and sustainable environment in which our boys and young men learn and live
- Inspire all to live lives of service especially to the poor and marginalised both locally and globally.

Mission

Summoned by the call of our College motto: facere et docere: To do and to teach, St Laurence’s College strives to implement the Charter for Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition so that it is the ‘lived reality’ in the community.

Once I went to the SLC playing fields and I had to use the restroom. I go into the toilet provided by SL next to the main oval and I regret to inform that I saw the remains of feces Smeared all over the wall in the form of male genitals. Students are immature and little poo heads Literally.
My name is Stuart and I attended this college from 2004 to 2022 and received an ATAR of 30.15. The teachers here played a vital role in my vast success and the creation of one of Brisbane's finest men. If not for their support, I would still be there, sitting next to my friend Cornelius. Cornelius still attends this prestigious college, and is on track to graduate year 12 at the age of 27. He wishes to pursue a prosperous career in "Woolworth's car park trolley pushing", that is, if he can crack a whopping ATAR of 15. When Cornelius embarked on his endeavors at St Laurence's, his mother was deep in her virgerous year 10 studies. It goes to show that this academically intensive insutitute can change anyone for the best. This college has enabled him to blossom and become an example of a fine young gentlemen. Thanks SLC. -Michelle "Pete" Peterson
Very good quality staff sports exellence is great they provide oustanding support
My sons belon to SLC - and I couldn't be prouder of their education journey. Your sons will not be overlooked or missed in this big boys schools, they have a fantastic 'house program' so your son/s will have a constant and consistent journey with the same familiar faces and leaders. I am a proud Lauries mum!
I think the school is okay overall. It has a few excellent, over-qualified teachers but it also has some pretty horrible teachers on senior classes to the detriment of its students. I've also seen some of the student leaders demonstrate among the worst behaviour of all its students which is highly disappointing.
Learning excellence is available for every student, whether it be social, academic or through sport and music. A great school
I went here for several years and only got a free Keychain, Mug, Cap and Pencil Case. … Well I also got an education but it wasn’t as cool as the Cap.
A strongly committed school and teachers towards educating young men to become exemplary gentlemen. The principal, staff and teachers uphold a high standard all round to deliver this outcome. A great school to send our sons to.
Great school with strong structure and teaching practice. Opportunities are available for every boy - music, art, drama, STEM, Vocational ed, social justice programs and horticulture. A shortfall is with language arts. Only Chinese is offered. Would be good to have more choice.
I have been going to this school and it is pretty good and i think it deserves a 4 star. Overall, the school is Really Good because it has really nice staff and teachers. I don't give it a five star because the school is really crowded during morning tea and lunch times. But the School is Still really GOOD! P.S. I also like the uniform cause it looks really cool and the BLAZER/tie
