I recently underwent surgery at your hospital, having previously experienced excellent treatment during my prior visit. Naturally, I expected a similar level of care this time, but regrettably, my experience was quite the opposite.nnUpon waking from surgery, I was informed that a nurse had gone through my personal belongings for my overnight stay. While they attempted to organize everything into the cupboards and drawers, one of my most important items—a travel toiletry bag containing $1,500 worth of clinical skincare products—was misplaced. These products were packed specifically in case my hospital stay extended longer than anticipated, which it almost did. The surgery initially planned as a keyhole procedure, ultimately was converted to major surgery, resulting in significant post-operative pain.nnAdditionally, I discovered that the bed linens I was placed in had bloodstains, which the staff promised to change but failed to do. I have photographic evidence documenting this issue.nnAn investigation was initiated but concluded with the hospital’s acknowledgment of their unreliability in managing this situation, specifically pointing to the nurse’s mishandling of my personal belongings. This not only caused the loss of all items in my bag but also led to significant emotional distress, as I had not consented to someone going through my personal belongings.nnI am requesting a resolution to these issues, as the emotional and financial impact has been substantial.
We were horrified when dad fell over to know he had a stroke. The hospital did what's needed to be done to ensure his comfort in those 15days. Most importantly, Rev Sheridan visited several times and that brought light and life to dad and of cos, the family near and far. He very well after all the needs and prayer.nThank God for St.John of God hospital, who live by His name.
Recently I went to the Geelong St John of God ED very unwell & willing to pay to be seen because having already spent 12 hours at the Geelong Hospital ED previously I just couldn’t sit there again. The care I received was exceptional, fast & literally saved my life. The nurses & Dr’s were incredible even though I was not a private patient. They organised my transfer to the Geelong Hospital for admission for ongoing treatment. Without their initial care I know I would have been in serious trouble. I would not hesitate to go back there again if I ever needed to.
Stayed on the maternity ward. Nursing care has been wonderful and so much support to help us transition to parenthood. Had an very positive birth experience with an excellent obstetrician and medical team. However It's dissapointing that we have had to supply our own nappies and wipes. And that the Walls of the rooms are paper thin. We could hear the whole word for word conversations of the parents next door. Were awakened frequently when other parents pressed their nurse assist buttons as we could hear it inside our room.
I had my first child at St John of God last month.nI had certain apprehensions about the experience in general, but the birth and aftercare exceeded my expectations. All the staff were just phenomenal and the professionalism and care were beyond.nThanks to all the amazing staff
