Well, well, I knew outpatients is too busy to answer phones but, when I show up face to face to enquire about intended orthopaedic surgery & I still get the blank faces & the wrong number to contact Orthopaedics …I’m gobsmacked.nAfter persevering I get through to a nurse, whose name I shall not reveal… So, I try to ask when I may be on the scheduled list for surgery as I’m in horrible discomfort & pain & had, had a couple of life threatening incidents in recent weeks, which I tried hard to tell her about but, she wouldn’t listen to me! She simply told me to see my GP to get more effective pain killers! OMG! Did she really think I was that stupid?nOf course I had done that & was aware of my options but, did she care that none were giving me any confidence or pain relief, instead giving me ‘life threatening side effects’ & that surgery could be my only chance of major pain relief?nnIs it ok for corporate staff to keep ‘threatening’ me the caller patient, with hanging up on me if I didn’t listen ONLY to what I was being ‘commanded’ to do by the so called nurse? She constantly interrupted when I was trying to explain why I was crying out for urgent help & this is not fair!nAll I am asking for is ‘communication’ …Keep me informed on when my surgery may be possible? Is it getting close? Or how far off is it? In which case, make some alternative suggestions of allied health practitioner services I could seek to get some form of pain relief And, inform my referring GP’s of how they can help me in the interim, while waiting for the proposed surgery … Please Note, you are dealing with the new aging population who are still working, to afford a roof over their head! … Be Kind to US!
Multiple people had appointments made at the same time, 2.15, still here now at 4 pm. Who is running this place? Was the same way 16 years ago, so dont blame Covid again. Absolute incompetence. I remember having to have my daughters cast redone, as it was so wet and sloppy when we arrived home. Its still an incompetent mess.
The most incompetent unit I have had the displeasure of dealing with. I was awaiting a call back to see if I needed surgery, never received one so a week later I call the clinic after waiting hours on hold, handballed to various departments. They then ask me if I have fasted and could do surgery today, astounded I said no? Had not been told surgery was confirmed yet. Surgery booked for the following day.nThe outpatients is poorly organised, you wait for hours in the morning. I am unable to go back to work in full capacity and in both instances they have failed to provide certificate outlining that, which has resulted in waiting on the phone for hours and unresponded emails.
I thought the other bad reviews seemed a bit harsh but I was called and told my partner was ready to pick up 2 hours after dropping her off. So I got there 30 mins later, and she wasn't ready to pick up. I waited 3 hours. Absolute joke.
They destroyed my body. And now leaving me In pain for years sending me In circles they don't care I'm crying in pain on a daily. Please don't give birth here go somewhere else this hospital is incompetent and hurting people.
