Story

Smith street Barber is a 20+ year established business. Recently taken over by Sam, a passionate barber with over 30 years experience. We specialize in all men's grooming services, ranging from cut throat shaves, clipper shaves, beard trims, traditional barber cuts, new age style cuts, afro cut, fades.
if you're after a down to earth barber shop with no hipster frills attached, then this is the place for you!

all of our staff are fully qualified with at least 10 years experience & there's not much we cant do.

I never rate or review, I just don’t ever go back to again, but I’ve dug up an extremely old account just to leave this review. I got my hair cut for a wedding. As I walk in the older gentlemen behind the counter looked as if he didn’t even want to serve me. So I sat down and look through some books and magazines to figure out how I should cut my hair, keep in mind it took me two years to grow my hair and it had just reached past me shoulders. I got one of the other barbers to cut my hair, the female one. My girlfriend and I had agreed what length to cut my hair, and showed the barber which also confirmed how long. How ever she started to cut EVERYTHING OUT. The colour was all gone from my hair, she had basically cut my hair to the regrowth. Which is not long enough to do anything with, and not short enough to even stay put with clay, wax, or gel. And the prices here aren’t expensive,  make long hair was about 40 dollars. 40 dollars is just way too expensive to have my hair butchered. This is weeks after the hair cut becuase I thought it was just the feeling of a big change, potentially you may my like it at first but you’ll eventually learn to work with it. This was not the case. I hate it even more and I had wished I had never cut my hair here. It’s bad enough that I don’t want to leave the house. A cap doesn’t fix anything because little bits and pieces of the sides don’t tuck in at all the fringe is uneven, and she clean up one side of my hair (that was shaved) but decided not to do the other side even when I asked here multiple times. That hair was a big part of me that got ruined and i don’t feel happy or comfortable going outside and having people see my hair. It’s made me depressed, especially when other people comment on my hair. And I feel that even she knows what she did, and still decided to give me the loyalty card as if I would ever come back.

Best hair cut in ages. I'm always looking fresh! The staff are super friendly and always ready for a chat. Don't forget your cash!

One of the best spots to get trimmed up in the area! Great staff, good price and cool atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend
