Sails On The lake is renowned for its magnificient views of Lake Taupo and the Central Plateau Mountain Ranges.
We are located directly opposite Lake Taupo's main swimming beach and only a short 1.5 km (1 mile) walk to Taupo town centre, where you will find an amazing variety of shops, and excellent restaurants and bars.

All our rooms are air-conditioned , spacious, modern and very clean with either Queen or King sized beds. All guests can also enjoy Sky TV (Cable TV) with 50+ channels, free parking, free guest laundry and free unlimited Wi-Fi.

Located directly overlooking Lake Taupo, our lake view apartments and suites enjoy commanding views over Lake Taupo and beyond.

Our Spa Studios are perfect for couples in need of a private getaway, with a large 2-person spa bath, open living room and private balcony with superb elevated views of Lake Taupo.

We stayed one night in March during a 3-week road trip. The apartment had a nice balcony with superb views over the lovely Lake Taupo. Comfy bed and spa bath was a nice touch. The apartment was well equipped and staff helpful. The walk into town alongside the lake shores was very nice.
Very tidy and have pretty much everything you need. Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner. A nice spa in the bathroom towels changed daily with room service restored the room just like day one when we entered. All personal stuffs are left alone.nnRooms are well insulated from temperature changes and sound. Black out curtain provided.nBed is pretty comfy towards soft sidenAircon, fridge/freezer/microwave/sky tv/lots of power plugs. Laundry on site. Dedicated parking space per unitnnReally stunning view directly at the lake can see the sun fall at dawn.nnA bit further away from the main place where you have food by walk. But central enough everything is a 1 min or 2.
Small motel with a few rooms. The first building can see the lake but not the second building. Lake is just across the street and a lot of people swim and play along the bank. 20 min walk to the town center. Rooms are a little old but Ok. You can park inside the court yard.
Stayed for 5 nights over Christmas 2025 , lovely hosts who are very welcoming & accommodating , nothing was too much trouble. Room was great size , very clean & soft linen with a beauty lake view. AirCon was a great addition with SkyTV & plenty of parking. Great value for money , highly recommend & we will be back again!
Lovely view, stayed 1 night , about 15 minutes walk to town, clean with good parking
