It has amenities bbqs playground nature trails and is pet friendly as long as there are leashed

A nice short walk in the Karawatha Forest Park (about 20-30minutes,  2km from carpark - depending which entry you select) where you can sit in a permanent park style bench and table and enjoy a picnic, or just a short rest before turning around on a different trail back home. Adjacent are natural rock formations and a high vantage outlook over the suburbs.
