Service is good and fast. Price is reasonable. Food is so yummy and big servings compare HK dim sum. Auntie work very hard so don’t give them pressure ya. Be more patient.
A well-established restaurant in Glen Waverley, continuing to serve some well prepared Cantonese cuisine. Offering fresh seafood prepared by the ever reliable kitchen in delicious flavours that regulars have come to expect from them. Covid-safe QR check-in and vaccination certificate checks were performed before we were seated. You still know what you're going to get when you come here.
Very "meh". Only went in because nothing else was open. Duck with noodles had little flavour, hardly any sauce or seasonings for noodles. Only $11. Honestly better off getting roast meats at China bar. Seafood was ok. Service was very pleasant and polite though.
Food was not bad, i will recommend the roasted duck and kou lou yok sweet and sour pork , their roasted pork looks good but too salty.
Don’t order non-Cantonese cuisine from here. Their Kung Po chicken is a disaster that has all flavours you could possibly imagine. Sweet, sour, spicy, salty you name it. It’s drenched in sauce and oh my god really
Popular Chinese restaurant in the suburb town of Glen Waverly near Melbourne The food is excellent, especially the roast duck .Service is fastFood: 4/5
I had experienced very poor service from the waitresses previously, so decided to do takeaway this time. Rudely surprised by an equally unfriendly service from the counter staff who was very impatient. And when I requested for a little extra chilli oil, he took back the tiny container of plum sauce to exchange. So little sauce for a whole roasted duck, but worse was the rude service. Most disappointing.
First time we have tried Rock Kung. The lady that was our waitress was very helpful especially when we weren't exactly sure what level of chilli was in the meals. Guided by her we ordered fried rice and a hot pot - to be honest I am not sure which hot pot we ordered but it had prawns, squid, thinly sliced beef, pigs blood, glass noodles, vegetables and some exotic mushrooms. I admit I wouldn't know the difference between Cantonese or Schezwan style but that hot pot was excellent. The back of throat burn slowly spread to the lips and everything in the soup still retained it's flavour while the broth heated you up on a cold day. We loved the food and the service and the chilli burn had gone by the time we left the restaurant - we will be back. Teamed up with a bottle of Koonunga Hill and our wedding anniversary lunch was complete with leftovers for dinner.
Must have the mud crab spring onion ginger crab noodle. And the roast duck was one of the next in Melbourne too. - remember to bring cash!
Notwithstanding occasionally feisty waiters, the quality of roast meats is consistently good over the years, and this Kingsway institution has been around for decades. The house special is lobster noodles. Reservations are recommended.
