Good bicycle hire at a fair price. Be sure to call ahead to give Gerald enough time to get your bike sorted. He’s a friendly fella that has been renting outdoors equipment for 40years. Gerald had some amazing stories of his time hitchhiking the 60’s, I wish I could’ve stayed around a bit longer to speak with him more but I had a flight to catch. Would definitely hire again next time. Thanks, Matt

Great equipment. Douglas is a great guy and he knows exactly what he's talking about. 
He is an old man who I not the fastest and best when it comes to responding via email.
Please be so kind to take the effort and ring him.
Takes a bit for him to warm up but once you got him you've never seen a more beautiful smile and laugh.

The owner is very nice, and the equipment of high quality. Old Douglas even supplied a set of silk sleeping bag sheets specially for my daughter! Though be warned: get there very early, as old man Douglas is EXTREMELY chatty, and though very interesting, it is hard to leave without being rude.

I had arranged a reservation for a rental mountain bike and helmet before booking my flight to Launceston for work. Once I confirmed with Douglas I booked a flight in early to hit the trails. When I arrived at his place at the set time he was not there, and the phone just rang and rang (couldn't leave a message). I called a number that I found on the door that turned out to be his son, He said Douglas was in Melbourne and that he was too busy to help. I was quite disappointed that I thought I had lined everything up, and have an email to confirm dates and times, and he wasn't there. If plans changed it would have been nice to receive notification of that.

I was interested in hiring a bike from Doug, and sent him an email. I only asked questions based on what I had read from his website. He was extremely rude in his response. So much so, that I’m taking my business elsewhere.
