They sent the rates notice to the wrong address and then charged interest when it wasn't paid. I asked them to waive the interest but it's just a money-grubbing council staffed with power-hungry bureaucrats. If you walk in expecting this, you won't be disappointed.
Council Rates are excessive in comparison to other council areas in Queensland, as are the Water Rates, there is no consideration for elderly residents that can barely afford to live let alone pay inflated Council Rates in the Redlands area. Having a previous Mayor that did not stand down after a Drink Drive charge against her shows the disgusting mindset of the Local Government.
The Contact Us page is fantastic! I received a prompt response for my suggestion, as well as the council acting on it and following up to let me know they acted on it. The council really seems to care when you've alerted them of an issue. I've contacted them 3 times now with fantastic, prompt response!
Council no camping signs are illegal. Homelessness and 'camping' are not the same thing. I have had a council worker stand there with a leaf blower and deliberately blow dirt all over me. I was born in Brisbane, lived and WORKED my whole life in Queensland but apparently am no longer welcome here. I am really tired of the disgusting bullying behaviour of Redlands council workers. If they try this on you just stand your ground that you are homeless, not camping, and report their breaches of our human rights. Greedy nasty rich people and their vicious little workers.
The boat ramp at the Redland bay does not provide ample parking for fishermen arriving without a trailer and going to fish with a friend.Boat ramp was empty and I even parked furtherest away possible.Fined an excessive amount for parking in an empty car park....what has this world come too..If there was a park designated for fishers without a trailer I would of parked in it....cash grab much council?
