Spent the night in a bungalow. Staff were extremely obliging and helpful and went the extra mile for me. The bungalow was clean and tidy and the bed heavenly. Linen was crisp and lovely. Thank you Raglan Holliday Park. I will be back.Rooms: 5/5
Hard to beat the location because it close to water, swimming and Raglan township. Arrived at the reception area at just before 6pm recently when the staff were ready to go which ended up in a hurried and less than ideal situation but we got by. The range of rooms at the park are quite varied so from single to large shared groups, they can meet demand. What could have been better is catering for the unexpected. Our group of 15 had 2 extras. They were ready to head to a motel in town. I'm sure another room at the park could have been made available but when the business is close to shutdown time, it creates some issue. Good operations can react to the unexpected and it would have been nice to see Raglan Holiday Park do the same. Particularly when they have such strict terms for deposits and occupancy. Overall it is a very good place to stay but that ability to grab the maximum dollars in an unexpected situation like ours would be a win/win both ways.
We had a disappointing experience with Raglan Holiday Park. We booked a tent site in May so we could attend a waka ama competition. We were five hours into our journey - we live on the East Coast - when our vehicle broke down. We were stuck in Cambridge at 10pm with a van heavily leaking water and had no way of getting to Raglan. We were distraught as not only we weren't able to make the competition but were also worried about how to get back home to be at work on Monday hard to find a mechanic in the weekend in a place we didn't know-and we didn't! . Long story short, we told RHP about our story on the night and the lovely guard we talked to was understanding and sympathetic to our misfortune. He told us he would pass on the information to the office so we could get a refund. That was at least a piece of good news. We spent the night in Cambridge and managed to crawl our vehicle back home filling it up with water every 20 kms. We later got in touch with RHP to organise a refund or a credit for a future stay. RHP was utterly unsympathetic answering us with their standard response to a cancellation, totally ignoring our peculiar situation. We would have understood if they had missed out on a booking on a cabin but a tent site in May! Anyway, maybe I am naive in expecting a bit of compassion and kindness... Though I have had the pleasure to deal with people that do business differently in the past...
Group accommodation was perfect for our family function. Staff were helpful, especially over a long weekend. Clean and tidy, modern with everything you need. And spotless toilets/showers. Recommend to any group. Only minor issue was around non-group people using the facilities we paid for exclusive use. They had a couple of signs up that people ignored, but maybe some bollards or temporary fencing that would make it more visible the area was closed for private use. As we were left to inform people of the situation, this resulted in a couple of heated arguments. Rooms: 3 or 4 person bunk rooms, modern & comfortable. Warm and cozy. Didn’t hear others in room next door or outside public. Walkability: Close walk over bridge to town, little bit further after a few drinks at the pub & couple boogies at the Yot Club
Great stay had our own little plot more than enough space enjoyed our stay a 5 minute walk from town centre will highly recommend Rooms: 5/5
I had a youth activity camp there. One of the youth lift the car barrier bar. He is 13 only, I know he done wrong, but the lady from the reception could talk to his adult that was walking with them. Instead she started shouting on the child and even though he was saying sorry, she kept shouting. I tried to calm her down and tell her its ok, we will pay for damaged if something happen, but she was not listening and kept saying its not okay... This upset me as I saw the youth less engaged after that, and he got embarrassed in front of others as we were a big group who were walking and everyone witnessed it. I tried to leave feedback in their website, but I could not find a space for feedback. Safety: physical safety is good, but some times the staff might shout at children, instead of sorting the matter with the adult.
Excellent location, excellent facilities, clean and tidy, a very well-run and kept campground will definitely stay againRooms: 3/5
Great campsite is a awesome location. Some reviews mentioned dirty showers/kitchens we could not fault it despite the campground being full. The cleaning teams were friendly and so efficient. The campsite is really child friendly with plenty to keep them entertained. We also liked the no noise after 10.30 rule.Rooms: 5/5
A well run campsite with excellent proximity to the town and surfing beaches. The toilets, showers, and kitchen were of a good standard. Showers included in the price. It was also quiet at night, which I was surprised about given the size of the site, but this was very welcome! Would recommend.Service: 5/5
A great place to come for a weekend. Just a short walk across the bridge to the town.Rooms: 4/5
