This place was so cute!!! The bed was really comfortable, rooms were clean and atmosphere was quite. The location is great and well kept including a beautiful dog run. They put little dog bowls in the room in case you might have forgotten to bring yours. The owner was friendly and accommodating. They lit the fire pit around 7 pm which was relaxing and we got to meet other travelers. I highly recommend this hotel. Thanks for a wonderful sleep an swanky 60's atmosphere.
Loved the clean rooms, brightly lit parking lot, and the quiet. Staff was very friendly. The King sized bed was excellent and the overall atmosphere was excellent. Highly recommend this place RECOMMENDATION: I would like to see an iron and ironing board in the room, a table by bathroom sink to put shaving kit and or wife’s make up on. We were in room 14 and the little glass shelf by mirror was very small. There was no ice bucket in the room either. Again, it was a well kept establishment and a great place to stay.
I'll start with the positives. Stylistically the place is amazing. The route 66 radio is a lot of fun. The place is very clean, I can't complain about that. The owners were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I did have two issues that were kind of a big deal though. The mattress was insanely firm, and it bulged in the middle. Any shifting while I slept resulted in nearly falling out of bed. I seriously considered sleeping on the floor instead. . The other issue was the air conditioner. It had been left off until we got there on a 99 degree day. The room was unbearably hot, and despite turning it on full blast when we got there at 7pm it didn't get comfortable until about 3am. It's a shame because if not for those two issues this would have been an amazing experience.
An exceptional experience in a unique place. Restored and maintained as a Mid Century Roadside Lodge. You have to stay to fully appreciate the extent the owner has gone to, a work of love. The amenities and staff are also top notch. Very dog friendly; treats and water bowls prepared in advance by providing the pets name. Big and small accepted. Dog run on site. Clean, friendly, and unique. I received the warmest welcome and the amenities were exactly as described. I brought my dog and I think they were just as excited to have her staying at the motel as well! The pet area was large and well kept, and the community spaces were nice! Can't wait to come back!Rooms: 5/5
We had a long day of driving, and found this gem in Tucumcari along Route 66! The room was clean, and the owners were so sweet! They have beautifully restored this lodge, and we were so happy with their services. Highly recommend booking with them! Everything made our wedding getaway so much more unforgettable! Don’t forget to take a look at their souvenirs! Take a break from your average hotel experience, and give them a chance! You won’t regret it! Oh and book a snazzy 60s room! Give the magic fingers a whirl! Enjoy your stay with them! Thank you Roadrunner Lodge! We’ll be back!
We could not recommend this Motel more, the room was fantastic, great location and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms have a great 60s feel and it's complete with 60s radio, snacks and decor. They also have a nice little gift shop and provide coffee great coffee and snacks in the morning. My fiance and I loved it and plan to stay again in the future!
Excellent classic motel right on Route 66. Within walking distance of a convenience store, bowling alley, and diner. Room was set up with radio playing oldies, felt very welcomed after our long drive. Staff is super friendly and I felt like I was staying at someone’s home not just a motel. Will definitely return on our next road trip!
Came here from the Historic Route 66 Motel after owner there refused to let me look at room before checking in and was a real jerk about it then encouraged me to “go down the road”. Amazing stay, don’t really have anything to add to all the positive reviews. Just be aware it is a “vintage” motel. Bathrooms are small no fan, no modern conveniences like power next to bed, etc. None of which detracted from the experience tho. Also if you need a pet friendly room better to call ahead, they seem to fill up fast. also FYI they usually start answering phone at 3pm. Would definitely stay here again!
My husband and I stayed here with our 2 dogs while making a cross country trip, it was so lovely and all the personal touches were very thoughtful. Extremely clean, comfortable and welcoming. Could not recommend it more and we loved the retro style!
