Came to Public Espresso for breakfast. Not a bad little place to grab breaky, nothing crazy but decent menu with plenty of reasonably priced options. Food wasn’t anything to rave about, poached eggs were hard as a rock and the hash brown was a crispy rock I had to use my hands to eat. Drink wasn’t anything special either. Look not bad but food needs some work.
Most of our food was lovely, and the coffee is great. Was rather disappointed with the steak sandwich, one half had steak the other side had nothing and when I asked about it, I was told that’s how it is!! Cost $20 for half a sandwich. Was not scotch fillet either, although advertised as such. Expensive menu. It doesn’t look the cleanest place but not a lot of places to eat in Mascot. It’s right under the Meriton suites which is handy, especially for travellers.
This is their chicken parm, judge for yourself. As a quick edit, the chicken was dry and tough, the sauce was flavorless, the cheese was as pictured low in quantity and mostly unmelted. The chips are fantastic. Final edit: the side salad lettuce was brown and slimy, with no dressing. Lovely.
My friend and I had breakfast from here just because it’s conveniently located right beneath our hotel. The service was great, however I am a bit concerned about hygiene for some reason and the quality of the food. If you have a look at the Big Breakfast; canned beans, frozen hash browns, huge mushrooms, the bread was toasted a bit too much. It’s just isn’t the best. In the Eggs Benedict with Salmon, the salmon isn’t quite fresh as it should be. I know this for sure because I have been eating smoked salmon every morning in a row of 1.5 weeks. The sauce, was a bit too much and the poached egg didn’t had runny yolk instead it was over-boiled. . I was cutting into it as if I am carving into meat. Overall, not a great experience. Love the coffee pricing though. Quite reasonably priced.
One among the few cafe's that is open until 8pm. The lady was really nice and the mocha was really good
I came to this cafe to get a drink, there was a long queue and i decided to use their toilet first before ordering. While I was waiting for a cubicle, the owner comes into the bathroom and shouts at me to get out. Really horrible customer service. Didn't even get a chance to try their menu. Dont go to this cafe, the owner so rude and bad attitude. The bad experience ever I got.
Been grabbing coffee and smoothies here a few times. Decent drinks and finally came back to try their wagyu beef burger... Burger looks great and is a good size. Flavorful but the patty was a bit dry or slightly over done. Nice chunky meat in the party served with a large slice of melted cheese. While the burger isn’t great, the chips are second to none! Really nice and crispy on the outside! I’d come back to try their brunch or breakfast dishes instead as everyone raves quite a bit of it.
Super friendly staff with great sitting area, a clean environment and good tasting flat whites here
Beautiful food here - everything tastes great and huge servings. Had the spaghetti Bolognese and chicken schnitzel sandwich - yummo. Coffee and service also great and place is very clean. Well done
Shockingly slow service. 35 mins to get drink order. The place wasn’t busy, just slow. Young teenage kids working the floor with no smile or enthusiasm. Unless they pull their finger out, I’ll give it 6 months top
