While I need to acknowledge there are some wonderful nurses and support staff, the overall service provided to my father was terrible. The fact a doctor within the hospital decided to take my elderly father off a dementia tablet and discharged him without any consultation to his family is disgraceful. Lucky his chemist noticed the change and was able to let us know so we can discuss with his GP. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hospital.
I have had 5 procedures in 18 months and you would think that at least once I would have been had a decent experience. Communication and administrative management has been poor overall. Two of the five times, communication was slow and resulted in two delayed/postponed surgeries. For a private hospital, disappointing overall. The anaesthetist and team were excellent as was surgeon I had and his team for some of my procedures/surgeries. Post surgery care nurses were hit and miss. About 50% were excellent. Half couldn't seem to be bothered, whereas the other half picked up the extra slack. No I would not recommend, and only go back to this hospital if it was the last resort.
Pindara this time you disappointed me.nI was 70 yo in April 2025 and had a shoulder replacement. On the 4 previous occasions I have always had excellent care 3 X illness for 6-7 days each time and one occasion for overnight only for a small operation.nSo this is my 5th time in Pindara as a patient and always the hospital and staff are so good.nThis time I had a 3 night stay for a shoulder replacement. The care from staff was fantastic from theatre to the ward and overnight. Next day, the only staff I saw was kitchen and meds with temp etc, absolutely no one came to offer help with changing my bed, clean pyjamas, shower anything. I spent over an hour in the bathroom undressing and showering with one arm and putting on fresh pyjamas etc making sure that the wound didn’t get wet. After showering still no one approached me so I remade the bed myself. That was day 2. Next morning nurse said that I could leave around 11am. My daughter in law arrived at 10am to help me shower and dress because again on the 3rd morning still no staff offered me help to freshen up with one arm in a sling and a wound. Again I only saw the meds and temp nurse plus the kitchen staff. I have always been very loyal to Pindara however after this last inpatient stay and my increasing age I will be investigating other hospital options available to me.
I have extreme hospital anxiety due to past public hospital experiences, so I was very hesitant to come, but my partner encouraged me, and I’m so glad he did. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly kind, compassionate, and reassuring. It turned out to be such a positive experience, and I felt truly cared for. A special thank you to Dr. Mishra for his professionalism and empathy.
29/4/2025 I was a day patient at Pindara Private hospital Gold Coast. What fabulous service.nYour department was beautifully presented so well done to your cleaning staff. You have friendly reception staff. Your admission nurse was very pleasant and orientated me to the plan of the day. Every nurse was fabulous, well-presented and spoke beautifully to all the patients. I was given a great discharge plan and staff made sure I had a good understanding of that plan.nYour team obviously enjoy their job and their team. Well done, Pindara Private
