From the time i was in GC Emergency to having 2 operations on my Knee and then going to my own room. All i can say is the staff have been amazing! From the Doctors, Nurses, physio staff, catering and even the cleaning staff. I take my hat off to you all. I had a long stay 25 nights and did not come across not one negative person! All were helpful, happy and professional in their job. Thanks to all staff in level 3 ward 8 room 4 then level 3 ward 7 room 28 then in rehab level 2 ward 6 room 15 who helped me recover. Even my husband was impressed! I cannot thank you enough. Well done Goldcoast Private Hospital! Highly recommend….
Admission staff, nurses all good. However food served varies from poor to inedible. This food is worse than a budget airline.nnSo my partner now brings in food daily, but no fridge in the room, really should be for personal drinks and so on.nnFinally, room is fine apart from no fridge, but no pay TV streaming services, just terrestrial free to air. In addition, to no ability to cast from smart phone. Entertainment and food are really important when staying for several days.nnHad to request room cleaned and vacuumed on two occasions, no proactive cleaning.nnI am still a patient right now, let's see if anything changes?nnBTW, mentioned the poor quality of the food to several Nurses, the common response was 'Yes we know, apparently they are a healthy choice, but flavour, presentation,ntexture etc have been ignored'.nnOne final observation. The medication I was prescribed on discharge cost around three times more than the charges by any local Chemist. When I contacted the pharmacy who issued the medication they explained they have to pay the Gold Coast Private Hospital a margin on all prescriptions dispensed by them. Suggest you ask for the written prescriptions and get dispensed at a local Chemist.nnSuggest you should consider this Hospital to be a budget private Hospital.
I recently had a serious medical episode where I was ambulanced to the Emergency Department of this hospital and stayed for 10 days. The medical attention I received upon arrival was immediate and the staff and doctor's were wonderful and pulled out all stops in my care. Once stabilized, I was moved up to ward 12 where the doctor and the nursing staff were of the highest care and standard I have received anywhere in my 60 years. I have nothing but praise for my care and will definitely return if anything occurs in the future, but hopefully it wont.
Delightful staff and excellent nursing Thank you !nhowever general cleanliness in the room was far below standard and positively unhygienic for a Hospital. One week in Hospital and the floor was not vacuumed once even after a couple of requests. I was picking up Cottonwool balls covered in blood and food scraps off the floor every day. The tray table was barely touched after meals. Extremely lazy cleaners in the Cardiac Ward. Very unpleasant to see every day when one is a patient
I was extremely disappointed with the service provided by the receptionist at the theatre admissions desk on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, at 3:30 pm. Her attitude was condescending and rude, and she seemed more interested in directing me to check updates on a malfunctioning app than taking two minutes to listen to my concerns.nnAfter paying over $7,000 in excess for the surgeon and hospital fees, I expected a minimum level of professionalism. Staff should be properly trained to answer questions from the spouses of patients who have undergone surgery, rather than hiding behind a screen to process work that, while important, should never take priority over patients and their relatives.nnHer excuse that the mobile phone reception wasn't good and she also could not access the app after I pointed this out is unacceptable. She hasn't had her partner undergo surgery, so using that as an excuse is neither appropriate nor professional.
