My experience was perfect. Nurses Maddy & Amber made me feel well cared for after surgery. The surgeons were extremely informative and kept me at ease the whole time. In fact every single staff member i dealt with was amazing. Couldn’t fault the service
I was admitted to the ED last week with severe pain around the gallbladder area. I could not have been in better hands than Dr Michael O'Reilly. Prompt and professional examination, scans and ultrasounds and on advice of Dr Philip Townend the gallbladder was removed. I cannot praise the two doctors, nurses and support staff and Dr Lucas's Edwards enough for their professional, empathetic and caring attitude. It's most reassuring to know I was in such capable hands. Many thanks again.nDenzel Wilson.
The medical staff are amazing, friendly and helpful and kind. I was seen very quickly in the Emergency room.In my own room, clean and quiet.nMy only complaint is the food. The catering staff are really friendly, its just the food is dreadful. The food here used to be quite passable. I'm definitely not expecting gourmet, it's a hospital after all but something has changed and it's awful.nAnd worse, they gave me food containing gluten when my chart is marked as a Coeliac
Terrible. Do not go here.nThe management are terribly rude.nIn intensive care I saw the female nurse manager treat nursing staff absolutely rudely.nThe work culture is poor due to the uncaring non supportive manager.nThis negative unwelcoming experience was awful to experience.nnDo not go here.nPatients not safe.nnRecently a newspaper article published the story of a woman who jumped out of the window of the intensive care upper floor window. This is concerning. Makes me think: Unsafe systems. Quality issues.nnThis hospital has quality issues and concerning problems. nnYes location is good. Hospital looks nice from outside.nBut looks are deceiving.nIt is the hospital manager and oppressed broken work culture and unsafe practices and systems that concern mennBeware.nBe warned.
6 years ago my mum then 92 had a stroke but it wasn't diagnosed until 2 days later. She was admitted to the emergency department of this hospital.nShe stayed in the ICU for 1 day and then into a private room. Except for the food horrible, the nurses where ok, but she only got 2 assisted showers in 6 days.nI had to help her to shower in between.nNow I have to go in for a double hip replacement and I am a bit hesitant, hopefully I can get out quickly. I have been in the Goldcoast University Hospital quite a few times and it was excellent. Unfortunately the waiting times are so long now, so have to go private.
