The accommodation is really comfortable and beautiful, but you should pay attention to the bed linen, it smelled like it had not been dried properly or had been stored for a long time.nI had a bad experience in the restaurant. I would just like to have a drink and some sides and the attendant was extremely rude, blond man making me leave, giving me the glass of water I had had and telling me to go to the bar because in the restaurant it was only for the set menu I didn't know about this and no one told me when I arrived.nAlso, I requested to have a bathtub in the room and I received an email saying it was possible but and when I did the checked in the receptionist said it was not possible.nI think you have communication problems.nAfter all is a good place to stay.
Overall it was a pleasant stay.nThe rooms are slightly dated and didn’t reflect the price paid.nAlso have a mouldy smell.nnThe location was good!nnFront desk staff don’t go out of their way to assist whatsoever which was disappointing.nnDon’t expect your room to be ready even if you’re 30 minutes ahead or even 10 minutes prior to check in.nnUnfortunately it didn’t live up to the experience we had hoped.
Overall we enjoyed our stay there and might go back.nnGreat location, average service and food. Reasonable rooms.nnWhy we’d consider it again:n- location and the buggy service down to Hastings stn- jungle feel and relaxation, barely hear carsn- good living space in the room, comfortable sofa / sofa pillows for some downtimen- we were able to have get some good sleepn- basic but in a good way, less hassles and mostly good service albeit a few exceptionsnnWhy we wouldn’t:n- the AC blows directly into your face while in bed, which is terrible and you cannot change the airflow direction. They should seriously look into this. Massive headache. Luckily we came up with a creative solution for this but would have been one star if we haven’t.n- some of the details in the room needs a look… many dusty little spots, especially above the bed. Also replace those terrible worn out toilet brushes.n- a little desk in the room would have been helpful to get some work donen- when it was raining, the room got sooo humid that one laptop failed to cont to work. The dehumidifier needs to work better AC on dryn- better pillows / pillow refresh neededn- the lights need a big improvement. Especially get rid of the blue lights, lean more towards warmer tonesn- wider selection of foods for room servicennSpeaking of service:nn- we didn’t love that at the breakfast open buffet and in middle of putting a plate together, the waiter an older lady with white hair who seemed experienced enough asked us to stop, put our plates down and go all the way to the other side at the bar to pay first for breakfast…. She’s probably just following some protocol but you have to exercise some judgment. Not sure though about the genius who suggested to put the pay part out of the restaurant/ instead of bringing it to your table like any normal hospitality venue would. And certainly if you see a guest in the middle of already putting a plate together, spend 30 secs to get them the receipt / bill to their table.nn- we ordered room service a couple of times, and both times the food was good and was quick. The only comment is: please pick up the phone. We tried to call a few times with no answer. Had to call reception and the person who picked up wasn’t very happy to help. We need to adjust / add something to our order that wasn’t doable through the app. They didn’t do it at the end.nnAgain overall we’d likely come back / recommend it.. for Australia it’s not too bad.
I will preface my review with the fact that we travel extensively around the world and stay in many different types and qualities of lodging. I give this an average but that would be generous if I was just considering the room.nnMy husband booked here due to lack of options near Easter. Frankly I was very worried after reading the reviews. We did not have the experience others had with dirty rooms, poop on the toilet, etc.nnThat said, this hotel is older and it shows. I give the rooms a low rating for many reasons. It was clean but maintained a humid musty feel the entire time. Even our clothes felt damp when we packed them. Part of that is due to being so close to the coast.nnThe rooms are average at best and I personally wouldn’t want to do much in them but sleep. Our patio always had a big puddle in the middle even after a full day of sunshine.nnThe beds and pillows are not great but we had a king bed which we desired . We had to remind ourselves we didn’t pay for the higher end resort hotels and you get what you pay fornnThere was a well worn but working washer dryer in the room and they provide detergentnnThe location is up the hill from the beach which was fine for us but may not be convenient for those who struggle walking . The road from the hotel to the beach is closed to cars between 7am and 7pm . You probably don’t want to drive down there any way.nnThey have buggy service to drive you down a ways or pick you up. We used it to go down a few times but never called for a pickup. We had no problems getting our ride down. Be prepared for quite a bit of walking once you are let off. We love walking so that was not an issues. It is an uphill walk back.nnThe service was fine but not exceptional.
Our first family holiday here & sadly it will be our last.nThe cleaning in this resort has been atrocious.nWhen we arrived we noticed the kitchen still had food in it from pervious people staying in the room.nThere was ants everywhere .nThe couch ottoman was dirty with mud and dried food all over it.nThe bathroom toilet had poo on the seat.nThere was a heap of black hair in the bathroom all over the floor and behind the door.nAnd in our kids room was a pair of ladies pants not that that was a big worry but just goes to show there not cleaning properly after people leave.nWe complained to the front desk and they said that they would change us to another room in the morning. A “cleaner and better room”.nWhen we got the key for that the following day it was exactly the same and even worse.nAnd we were also told they would help us move our bags etc.. and that never happened.nI rang again to complain and asked to have our room cleaned properly or to upgrade the room & of course they only suggested to have the room cleaned properly.nWhen we left the room we told the girls cleaners that we just wanted to make sure the hair in the bathroom was cleaned and a few other things and when we came back to the room NOTHING was done except clean sheets and towels.nSo bloody disappointing.nFor what you pay for this accommodation you expect a better service.
