Upon receiving our rental MG, the fuel tank was 3/4 full however upon issue of the keys, we were instructed to have the car full on return. Other than this, we were kindly afforded a discount on the vehicle due to there being no availabilities on the cheaper option we were initially after. Saved a lot of money overall & although a last minute request, was able to hire a car which was a god send during my time in Cairns / Palm Cove. Thank you PC Car Rentals!
We’ve had a great experience with these guys. The van was large enough for six adults and a baby. The shuttle service dropped us right to our door and Darren was right on time and just a great guy. Giving us suggestions of places to visit and things to do made the experience even better. Will definitely be using these guys on our next trip up.
First contact with them was brilliant. The lady was so helpful and was well priced as well. Unfortunately the gentleman that we had to deal with when the battery died in the car 30 minutes outside of town was terrible. Understandably their could not foresee the battery going flat but having to wait 2 hours for RACQ with 2 small children to only be told they couldn't replace the battery because they weren't covered was horrible. We were told we would have to pay to get a battery to be able to keep the car or return it after it was jump started. The gentlemen told my husband he was unreasonable for being upset and wanting some sort of compensation. When the car was dropped off the hostility was ridiculous. We replaced the battery for them so the next person could use the car without any drama and we were reimbursed for the battery and part of our taxi fare back to the airport. But this was placed on our credit card when we used our debit card meaning it would not be cleared by the time we needed to use it to get home. So disappointing with how we were treated for an issue that was not our problem but still had to fix.
we were accommodated on a short notice during the week and was given a clean car as well. their price is competitive which is great! Also, Lauren and Lindsay were so pleasant to transact with. Would highly recommend!
Hired an Hyundai elantra for 3 days and also booked my tours through Peter at palm cove car rentals. Exceptional service at a low cost. Will definitely be hiring from here again
In April ‘21 we decided to hire a car for two weeks, with Palm Cove Car Rentals after exploring many other companies based at the Cairns Airport. Many of these were nearly double the price. We were so glad we did! And return transfers from the airport were also inexpensive and convenient. Not only were Palm Cove, more economical, they were a local company, based next door to our accommodation, and the friendliest people to deal with! Pick up and drop off was a breeze. The late model MG we hired was also fantastic!
What an amazing friendly team, we used their services twice during our week in Palm Cove, they were extremely efficient and so much easier than the traditional car hire companies. Nothing was too hard and even last minute it wasn’t too much trouble to get us into a car. Both cars were tidy, clean little autos in better condition than some of the big companies. If in palm cove I highly recommend using these locals for car hire with great rates.
Disappointed. Booked a car online, went to collect on the day and time specified to be told our booking was cancelled and we were advised via email. No email received in our inbox or in our spam folder. We only have 2 emails in our inbox confirming the booking. Plans are now cancelled for the day and trying to arrange refunds for organised tours. They offered no solution other than “sorry”. I recommend calling to confirm your booking or avoiding this company all together.
Lauren and Richard were great. Car available at short notice twice in a week, extended for a day no trouble at all. Experienced mechanical issues with one car but they were super helpful and provided a replacement upgrade at no extra cost.
Hired the basic, small vehicle for one day initially. Due to some transfers being cancelled for a tour, we needed to hire the same vehicle for two more days which they were very helpful and accommodating with. Nice and laid back, friendly and far less sterile than Avis/Hertz/other big hire companies. Felt more like borrowing a car from a friend. Reasonable price to hire and no hidden fees. Only issue was the brown Kia Rio had a missing radio antenna on the top which meant the radio got a little fuzzy at times. We had a problem opening the boot too...
