Recently took my car here for Service - Great Team and the front of house Ricky is great to deal with! They gave me a courtesy car for the day due to my busy work schedule. Ricky at NAR has been extremely helpful. Having used him quite a few times I can recommend him as an honest and punctual mechanic. He has fair prices and gives excellent service. I highly recommend him and his garage.

AVOID! I went here on a Saturday for a WOF and they failed me on multiple criteria - worn strut mount, worn break pads, weak hand break. I started feeling quite alarmed and surprised since my car had always easily passed WOF tests. The guy recommended that I come back the Monday to have the repairs done. I told him that I couldn't because of work and he told me he would call me later that day with a quote for the repairs. He never called me back and reading the negative reviews I started to think maybe these guys were not very trustworthy. Booked another WOF with someone else in Onehunga and my car easily passed with just a small light bulb at the back plate needing a replacement. None of the things I was originally failed for were a problem. Either these guys have incredibly high standards for a WOF to pass or they are trying to scam you, trying to get you to pay for repairs you don't need. Either way I would avoid them, they don't seem very trustworthy at all.

I don't trust these guys. I took my car in for repair which they diagnosed as a fuel filter blockage. The cost of this was going to be $701. On top of that they did an assesment of the car and came back with a list of things that totalled another $4688. The major costs were all four wheel bearings, brake shoes, wheel cylinders, steering and a few other items. The thing was, exactly 12 months previously I had taken my car to another mechanic in Parnell. They had totally replaced the entire rear diff, wheel bearing etc etc. So there assesment seemed strange to me. I took it back to the first mechanic whom I trust. They work on european car mostly, and their diagnosis was quite different. Only the front right wheel cylinder needed replacing, the others were fixed by simply tightening them. New bearings need to be tightened after a wear in period.

So long story short I feel they totally fabricated a big percentage of the work. There aim was to look after their own bank balance, and not mine ! Stay away is my recommendation. Granted some of the work needed to be done but I have to question their quoting practices. Do they think I'm stupid ! Dirty old rank workshop anyway.
