Up-cycled vibe and very relaxing and cozy atmosphere. Food is vegan presented very well and tasting really good. The place is tiny through. So not enough room to swing a cat. We had a pretty average service and mainly was interested in the pour overs. After choosing from the menu we found out that there was more variety on another board on the other side of the cafe. So I missed out on trying and spending good money, some Panama pour over. We also had a server who was a little too relaxed and shrugged off our questions on coffee varieties. Aside from the service and missing coffee menu overall was cozy and worth a visit for the food and coffee.
Been here a few times esp when I am visiting Melbourne. Thank God for them because it is so hard to find Veg resto that cooks without Allium Onion, Garlic, Leeks etc and everything here is Alium free. Wild Mushroom is a must try. Also try the lunch special every time. Coffee is beyond perfect! The photos don’t do them justice.
I'm a chai enthusiast and addict and the healing house brewed chai from here is hands down the best one I've had in Melbourne so far. Very strong flavour, with a good hit of spice and not too sweet. The food was also great, with a generous serving. Will be back for sure.
Lovely hidden café! They make their own homemade almond milk, which gave our Chai a fabulous creamy texture. Give it a try ! Cakes were delicious, and all the food around us looked great as well. 100% recommend this sweet place and their friendly staff not as grumpy as their mugs might suggest ; Vegetarian options: GF, DF options Dietary restrictions: GF, DF options
Might take a bit to find but it’s well worth it. Monk Bodhi Dharma is hidden in a car park adjacent to Woolies, you’ll find it by following your nose as the delicous smell of their coffee roaster draws you in to coffee heaven. Lovely people serve what could me Melbournes best long black, food looks great and their beans are fantastic. Perfect.
Always wanted to stop by and had the chance to do it. Small gem hidden. Large communal table and few small tables as well. In house coffee roasting. The food was exquisite, very tasty. Good portion at the same price as other cafes around with less in the plate. Will definitely return. Parking: Near Coles.
Almond feta actually tasted like feta. I’m not a vegan but such yummy food. The brownie tasted even better than a normal brownie. Super rich tasting. It’s kind of small and they don’t do book ins so you’re lucky to find a seat. Very aesthetic. Bit pricy for a chai though!
Very highly recommended place in Melbourne. Mars and the staff are super lovely. The coffee it’s excellent and so is the food. Almost all menu is vegan, which a love so much I’ve had the Açaí, it was creamy and full of fruits. I can’t think of a better açaí to be honest. Thank you so much
Delicious and fast service. We had the zucchini fritters and açai bowl. A definite recommended brunch spot!
I recently visited Monk cafe and was extremely disappointed with the quality of their coffee. The flavor was overwhelmingly acidic, making it almost unbearable to drink. On top of that, the pastry I ordered was only so-so. It was not nearly as fresh or delicious as I had hoped. Overall, I would not recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a good cup of coffee or a tasty pastry. The experience was a complete letdown.
