Amazing service with delicious strong and vibrant flavours in each dish tried. One of the best Japanese restaurants in Melbourne I reckon. Initially for their green tea ice cream, red bean paste was not something that was also part of it but after getting some inspiration from an Top rated Adelaide Japanese restaurant we requested for the green tea ice cream to be topped with the red bean paste. Was yet again an amazing combination. So good to know that requests for certain foods is seen to be done with no issues whatsoever.
Well, we nearly didn’t even go. Couldn’t book online, so we called and they “fit us in”. I guess with Teppanyaki, there needs to be a group to make it more enjoyable. Regardless, the staff on arrival were awesome and we were ushered to a group of teppanyaki tables, most of them in full swing. We ordered drinks and one of the feasts on the menu. It was incredible. Our chef who had just finished at another table was sensitive to our conversation and really just excellent so far as reading the room. We were here for business and so he wasn’t throwing food at us, or being loud and carrying on which is a pretty usual experience etc… he shifted to tell us about the food and gave us insights on why he cooked the way he did. And even a little personal background on himself. All in all it was an amazing experience. Great food, excellent champagne accompaniment, and great company. Highly recommended.
Can't review on their normal menu. BUT for their New Year Eve set course $183 per person, it is very disappointing. NOT WORTH the $183 per person price tag at all. Looks good but taste isn't surprising or up to a $183 standard.
We stumbled on Miyako and decided to give it a go. We had 4 types of tacos - lobster, wagyu beef, king crab and wasabi prawn and were really happy with all of them. We also tried the prawn gyoza and found it very flavourful. The service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.
The images and rating in this review are from 3 years ago, so things may have changed since then. My experience then was that it was expensive for what you get. It was more around the experience than anything. The staff were friendly.
Where to start?! We had an AMAZING experience there. Went for dinner and food and service were just perfect. We ordered a first round of Nigiri sushi and Wagyu Tataki, as well as assorted Sashimi and sushi. Everything was so fresh and tasty that we ordered a second round. Also tried the fried rice which was really nice too. Seasonings were just right, staff friendly and efficient all the while not being "invasive". I would highly recommend this place, however it does end up a little pricey!
Sashimi was fresh but paying $55 for a set with this dish wasn’t worth it as it’s just deep fried potatoes and steam veggie with teriyaki chicken. I think they can do it better for a $55 meal.
Amazing service with delicious flavours in each dish experienced on the teppanyaki set menu. Tommy was wondering, making the experience even more worthwhile. One of the best in Melbourne! Kid-friendliness: They were really great with including our children in the teppanyaki experience!
Interesting place! A hole in the wall! Authentic Japanese food right in the middle of McLaren Vale! Staff were super friendly too!
A taste of this food reminded us that we are to NOT to go gentle into that good night. 5 star service
