We recently hired a vehicle from Hertz in Mitchell and we paid just under $800 for the fortnight to rent this vehicle starting from the 25th of July to the 08 of August 2022. Additionally we chose to insure this vehicle for $400 for up to 30 days and we paid a $200 deposit that we were told that we would receive back at the end of the rental period. Due to our circumstances we had to extend the hire of the car by another 2 weeks. Upon ringing Hertz Mitchell to do this we spoke to 3 different people and were given 3 different quotes of how much this would cost. We ended up speaking to the manager Dylan who agreed to extend the hire for us at cost of $777. We returned the car on the 25th of August 2022 in original condition. We were refunded a bond of $110. Dylan did apologise and admit on the day that he had renewed our booking for the second lot of 2 weeks he cancelled our first booking on the system and inadvertently rebook a second booking which caused the 2 lots of bond payments. Dylan said that our $200 bond should be back in our account in a few working days and it wasn’t .We have also rung on Tuesday morning 30th and spoke to Dylan regarding this matter and he said that he would contact the accounts department to find out what has happened and email me regarding this , which he didn’t do. I contacted Dylan myself again several days later and asked for him to call back which he didn’t do. We contacted the Hertz accounts department ourselves. What the accounts department advised us was that in order to charge us a higher amount for the second fortnight of car hire Dylan has taken the difference out of the Bond. They were not 100% sure but believed this to be the case. This means that the amount we agreed to pay for the second fortnight of car hire is not the amount they actually charged us. There were no issues mentioned when we returned the vehicle and we returned it with a full fuel tank as requested. To make matters worse we had asked for receipts of payments and the receipts provided do not match in any way with the actual monies we have paid. What Hertz Mitchell has done is highly unethical if not illegal and I definitely would not be recommending them to anyone. I had to give this one star, if I could give our experience minus 5 stars I would.
Rang this morning, only to have a bloke speak so aggressively at me that he’s already had 12 other people call this morning so he doesn’t want to deal with me, wouldn’t even get my name or what I was asking. Then said every other car rental would be the same way to me so don’t bother calling them? For calling to ask a question, I’ve never before heard someone be so rude. Check your staff your loosing business.
Great service, minimal fuss with hire process.
The best and worst customer service. Pick up was fabulous. The guy with the turban was awesome and clam, spoke politely - just like any customer would expect. 5 stars for you mate. When I returned the car this morning the supervisor Gordan literally yelled at my face for returning the car late store closes at 5, no lock box to drop keys off after hours so I dropped the car sharp at 07:30 AM when the centre opened. After confirming with his collegue that I was allowed to return the car in the morning this bloke shouted at his collegue in front of his 3 customer for giving me permission to drop it in morning and if he does it again he will pay for it seriously how can you say that in front of customers shmae on you mate what an embarassment.... He then requested money for extra KMS when the car had unlimited mileage on it and he went on and on and on. There was some confusion when the booking was made at other centre Dont know how there system and software works, I wasn't charged anything extra but the way this guy was speaking I felt slapping him. If I would have been the manager that would have been his last day. Just remember mate if you are doing business, that business is because of customers otherwise you can sit there all day doing absiolutely nothing.

I rented vans before from here and it was good. But when I last called them to book a van, I spoke with Gordon, I believe. He said only trucks were available and literally said "do you want it or not?". He was rude and just told me a van was unavailable for 4 weeks then hung up. Didn't even allow me to ask any follow up questions. I believe the only thing I managed to say in that call was "Good morning, I'd like to book a moving van." RIP...
Worst place honestly for car rental the oldie with white hair acts like he owns the place and talks to you like your a little kid he kept pointing fingers in your face And gets right in your face while talking , honestly the weirdest place been there twice would never recommend it I have hire from thrifty and their much better and nicer .
Don't reserve for pickup at 5pm. He closes the shop at 4.30 and will not even call you to check whether you are close or not.
Very RUDE and grumpy male staff member. If you don't like people then don't work in customer service. I hired a truck from Wagga one way and due to quarantine had to have a mate drop the truck back into this store. He also had to visit the store beforehand to scan his license for insurance. The male staff member was dismissive, arrogant, abrasive and rude.
I was initially cynical and pessimistic but my experience was quite good. The Internet reservation system worked, which is a surprise. The shop was open comparatively late on a Sunday, saving me grief. I had the car within 10 minutes of entry. The final cost was reasonable not low but not high. The car was in a good state. Returning the car was done in under 5 minutes. For me, this time, it could not have been smoother. Thank you.
